I'm Out Of Here

My children told me that I am too wrapped up in what is happening politically; that I have a negative view of the world.  It really hurt my feelings, and considering that it was more than two years ago, you would think I would have either moved on, or dealt with it in a positive way.

Why,  today, am I at the point that I want a break from all this?  Well, in short, it is because of all the repetitive snarks between Obama and Clinton supporters (of which I am most certainly guilty as a strong Obama supporter).  I just happen to be sick of it all.

I am taking a break!

I am going to do alot of NetFlix movies, and read books,  check out the colleges that my sons have been accepted to, and apply for their FAFSA stuff and go on with my life.  I am sick and tired of parsing every word and trying to  figure out why people don't see the world like I do.

I am out of here!  (For Now)

Love Ya!

Which colleges? As an alumni of 3 (Georgia Tech, GSU, and UVA), I'm willing to share my opinion. :)

One thing he should keep in mind: not only will he be going to school there, but he will also be living there (presumably) for several years. Pick a college that has a nice town/city around it.

Although we live in Charlottesville, and their dad is a dept chairman at UVA, neither of my 18 year-olds could get into UVA. Patrick got into Longwood (my favorite), Randolph-Macon (his dad's favorite hoping he'll play football there), and Old Dominion U (possibly Patrick's favorite only because we like the other 2) I'm taking him to see ODU next week, and we already visited Longwood. I think they are all adequate and the most important thing is for my son to feel like he belongs there.

His twin, Lucas will go to Piedmont Community College.

Thanks for your response. Sorry I didn't answer sooner. If you don't get back to me I'll assume you couldn't find my response -- ala the new, improved TPM Cafe!

Have a good break.

We'll see you in the fall.

I share your frustration, especially over the past few days. It's just not possible that this batch of posters are as dense as they seem - avoiding the point and eschewing logic with such vigor.

I've never posted with regularity and admire those of you who do. I've have been away for a long spell but I remember the wit and substance of your posts, and hope you return soon, refreshed and reinvigorated. Best of wishes.

I can't leave until we get a nominee. I'm starving to death and it hurts. Send more medics!

We HAVE a nominee. Unfortunately we also have someone who wants to drag the party down with her, and so won't accept reality.

I might jus join ya!

I agree. If more people chose to check out, and spend their time watching movies instead of being involved politically, this country would be a much better place.

Spouses, kids, even my dog doesn't get it.

I wish I could get away, but there's wireless everywhere, and I'm another latte drinker.

Obama needs all the footsoldiers he can get. After all, hes fighting fellow democrats, Republicans and the MSM/power structure all at once. Consider that before you bask in movieland.

Have you dropped by Eric's blog? Other topics are possible, there.

Read one more piece before you go. It's excellent.

What if Hillary hadn't gone to the Scullery?

Thanks for the link. I agree it was good; too bad it is not going to happen. It is part of the reason I am so disgusted.

Hey, Jan, Just checked in, only to discover that you have checked out!

Enhoy your break, I sure am!
Tish

Er, that should be enjoy.
