Future Supreme Court Justices? Hillary Clinton?
So I'm still compiling that list. I have two already. If you want to see more about them, check my earlier post. This one is certain to engender opposition from many Republicans as well as Democrats.
Ashlie Ben "Hussein" Hocking nominated Hillary Clinton, perhaps in jest, but I'll treat it seriously. She understands the nuances of government at both the state and federal level, and she has seen or experienced the workings of both the executive and legislative branches. She will be 61 next October, so she's about the right age, though it would be preferable to have a younger jurist.
Frankly, I don't think she's interested in the position, and I don't think Obama would offer it to her. Some of the other candidates in the field could be considered. John Edwards comes to mind.
Any other suggestions?

I believe that she would make a fine justice. But would she want it?
It's quite private. She seems to enjoy the limelight.

I highly doubt that Hillary Clinton will stop being a President in order to become a supreme court judge. Too bad that Barack Obama will still be way too green at that time, but time will tell.

No, Lalo arleady bought one from Hillary. But Buill claims he can get you a great deal on a flying saucer factory, though!

If Hillary does not win the presidency, and Obama does, I think she will remain a senator from NY, a position of importance. The bitterness in the campaign makes any Obama offer for a cabinet post unrealistic.
Another path, which explains the current style of attacks, is to position herself for a run in 2012. In that scenario, she's trying to wound Obama fatally now so McCain will win.

I've thought that too, but it seems a little far fetched upon further reflection. First, it means she's thinking about a future race instead of this one. A possibility, but it's more likely that she still harbors a dream for a 2008 inauguration. Second, even if she did think that, it's not likely that handing McCain the presidency would help her in the 2012 primary, particularly among Obama's supporters.

Helping McCain win wouldn't be done openly, but through really destructive attacks on Obama. These attacks serve both her purposes: the chance for this candidacy, or setting up a run in 2012. Many believe that the Clintons did little to help Gore or Kerry because of their plans to have Hillary run.
