Ferraro in 1998 Prez Race: Jesse Jackson's Success is Because He is Black
Ben Smith at Politico.com cites Ferraro from 1988 arguing that Jackson was only able to remain in the race for President because he is black. The comment is from a 4/15/88 WP story.
The context is not entirely clear, but it seems awfully close to what she said about Obama this week.

Great line at the end by JJ:

Obama should Xerox that one and use it.
Hope this gets picked up by MSM. That Ferraro finds this necessary to say, apparently, about every black person who runs for president, sure seems problematic.
