Earth Hour...March 29...Tonight
For those who like to think about other matters in addition to presidential politics...
Earth Hour...tonight at 8 PM...whenever that happens in your time zone. Turn your lights out for an hour. Look at the stars, look within. Have a conversation by candlelight.
It's not a problem-solver. It's barely a band-aid. But it's something.

It's true, as I've seen some say, that this effort won't really even make the smallest of dents in worldwide energy use, but the importance is really the symbolism. Given some of the scary scenarios now being published on the Cafe main page, this effort becomes even more timely, as they all, ultimately, are tied in one way or another to energy.

Hi again, written. Andrew is Andrew Golis, the Deputy Publisher here at TPM Cafe, who has been taking comments on the site issues here. I'm sorry - without knowing who Andrew is my comment earlier must have been baffling and sounded quite loony.
Just to let you know, it's just a little after 8PM where I am, and I'm writing this by candlelight under laptop battery power. I really do appreciate the reminder earlier. :)
