Closing Comments on Facts, Fairness and Fraud, more links
I had to leave in a hurry when finishing my previous post - here in which I present a reasonable history of the creation and implementation of the rules and actions that wrought the current Florida/Michigan fiasco.
First - a slight correction - I notice a typo in the original, the Michigan House vote was 67-34 in favor of stiffing the rest of the country, not 57-34.
I had wanted to remark on the apparent willful pusillanimity of the MSM on this issue. Or - are they making sure the issue drags out? They cannot possibly be this obtuse on the subject can they? Well, maybe they can - they didn't bother verifying a lot stuff while most were busy cheerleading the way into Iraq. So - maybe they can be lazy and willfully lame on the truth.
Day after day we hear how all these voters in Florida (where more Republicans voted than the record number of Democrats) and Michigan are being disenfranchised. Day after day, people like myself have to wonder if principles count for anything anymore at all. We never hear about the voters in the other 48 states being distressed over the whole ugly falsification of the situation.
You see these Clinton talking heads like Rendell, Pennsylvania's Governor and a Hillary supporter - who actually sat on the commission that drafted the rules get on the tube and encourage violating them. Funny how the tune changes, has he no shame? Does Rendell enjoy being hung by his own petard?
There was one guy on yesterday that had voted on the rules to sanction the two states and stood hard by it. But so far, only he has been featured, and only once. A brief mention was once made of the fact that Harold Ickes also voted to strip the states, but who famously now says it's different.
There are rumors running rampant that donors to the DNC are threatening to withdraw pledged donations and one large donor in Florida has publicly confirmed his intent. So now - they want to get Dean and the DNC to turn into whores.
Kinda like the kid that takes the ball and runs home crying because he sees he can't win when playing by the rules.
Well, is our party a bunch of whores? Will it stand up to the dirty tricks now being played out by the Clinton camp? Let's face it, the issue had pretty much simmered down until Hillary started crying foul, and - wouldn't you know - she didn't start that business until South Carolina started looking like the disaster it became for her.
The height of hypocrisy was hit earlier today when she called Obama un-American for not rushing to defend the violators in Michigan. Really? She stated that a vote for every voter is the bedrock of American politics. How freaking disingenuous can you get? As demonstrated in my prior post, there were many hours and dollars expended setting the rules, the people of Michigan voted their representatives in, the state representatives and senators voted to move the date.
Clinton was wrong - Representative Democracy - Democratic Republic principles - are the bedrock of our politic. Can you trust someone who would so arrogantly mislead others after breaking her signed commitment on matters so important? Let's just dumb down and whore all of America. She would do that if it meant personal advancement for her - don't kid yourself. Which part of your children's future will she whore if she becomes president?
Mind you this is way beyond slurs and statements on her part - she is actively promoting actions that could destroy or fragment a long established institution - the Democratic Party of the United States of America.
Remember what Jefferson, our party's founder once said about, 'a little rebellion can be a good thing.'? It is time to rebel against the politics of polarization as practiced by the Clinton camp. It is time to rebel against the whoring of the party by donors. It is time to storm the in-boxes and letters editors at newspaper and media outlets everywhere - not to mention the DNC with comments damning this exploitation.
Following are some useful links:
For Howard Dean - a form is here http://www.democrats.org/page/petition/chairman
Tell him you resent the idea that funds donated to the DNC were used to establish rules that are being belittled by the Clinton camp with impunity. Tell him principles must count for something.
here are easily copied links from my research, if it will help you when writing others. You can do a copy link location on the prior post or copy from these links that are spelled out

If you feel so inclined, it might be a good idea to write 'healing' letters to papers in Michigan and Florida :)
You can also write your own Representatives and Senators - if they are Democrats, and voice your disgust with this obscene hijacking. Note that the law prevents them from responding with actual comments on your letter because any response would be political in nature. It does let him/her know (and they are all Superdelegates) where you stand, another notch in their mental tabulator.

if you do wish to copy some of the links above - you may get frustrated as some run into the next html/css block. It is very easy to select the whole line if you just select the first few letters on the left and then press shift hold it down and press the end key. A quick ctrl-c will copy it to the clipboard.
Yes, some of you may already know this, but there may be a few who do not.

Again, you completely ignore the motives of FL and MI state parties in pushing for different dates. Your analysis is incomplete without them.
Without understanding the motive, your analysis has a clear motive of blame.

I see - so when you knife and hack someone to death, the motive makes it ok, to do? Might mitigate the feelings a bit, but it doesn't excuse the crime.
It's a shallow argument, examination of the documents shows there were discussions over an extended period of time on handle the perplexing issues faced by the party.
Again, this was not one or two people. And THERE IS NO EXCUSE for a politician of Clinton's stature to make an agreement to honor the rules and then just toss that all out of the window. It is nothing short of reprehensible.
Indeed, you seem to be ignoring the large number of people who worked on the rules. You seem to be ignoring the fact that New Hampshire and South Carolina announced their date swap in concert with each other and with approval.
You seem to ignore the fact that both states were repeatedly warned as they went about their manipulation.
You seem to ignore the fact that Harold Ickes himself voted in favor of stripping the delegates.
Those were the rules, and we thought we had an obligation to enforce them
Do not get me wrong - I think the scheduling business is flawed, I do not agree that the same states should always be first. I actually feel that a rotating schedule should be established with two of the smallest states in each region going before the rest in their region, if possible. That said -
you can't have a unanimous approval by 450 Democrats on a set of rules and then stand by while one of the candidates tries to screw the pooch. Or while two states try to do likewise.
We understand their motives, but you see - they had better than a year to get their points made and ratified by a very large number of other Democrats before the rules were set.

I think you give said voters a little too much credit for being informed enough to be distressed. (Fahrenheit 451 comes to mind…)

I agree - but you know - it's polite company I speaking in. Never know when someone will call you an elitist for speaking the frank truth. Some of us do pay more attention to some things than a LOT of others, but watch out if you acknowledge that!
It's why I am so distressed that the media isn't hammering the facts as they should.

Thanks, I had them like that embedded throughout the original post. But thought for some who might want to see the documents and were unaware of any link copy functions, such as Firefox's, or is they wanted to copy a bunch at one time. I didn't realize TPM's DOM scripting wouldn't wrap them.
