Clinton General Election Preview
So. Now that we've been through popular vote, primary state totals, big state votes, blue state votes, wins based on electoral calendars and most recently popular vote in primary states the Clinton campaign has begun preparing rule changes for the general election, Sen. Nelson (D-FL), an avid Clinton supporter, is calling for an end to the Electoral College to be replaced by popular vote.
Just imagine Howard Wolfson on November 5th if Clinton is the nominee: "Well sure we lost according to the Electoral college, but that's so passe. Popular vote was super close, and if you don't count Alaska and Hawaii, which as you know shouldn't count for as much, since they were the most recent additions to our Union, then you'll see that we would actually be ahead in popular vote so we stand by our argument that we won yesterday."

If I recall correctly, Clinton actually called for reviewing the electoral college after 2000. It seems she didn't do much about that in her years in the Senate. Not that I really think there's any chance in hell of changing it, but it seems a discussion worth having. (Not one to be held in the midst of an election though.) I remember when I learned about the electoral college back in middle school, I was so disturbed by it.
And yeah, I wouldn't be surprised, as the game now seems to be changing the rules of the game in the middle of it.

With all this rule-changing, can anyone imagine playing football or basketball or scrabble with the Clintons?

Or Chess, "Of course the pawns can move side to side!"
This news is genuinely upsetting though, the electoral college, while flawed is important. If it didn't exist then the most populated areas of the country would essentially be the only places politicians would campaign.

"But, Hillary, paper beats rock. Those are the rules."
"This may be just a game to you, but I know what's at stake, and I'd just hate for this country, and all its good, rock-loving people, to fall backwards.
"So let's get real. Show me a rock that wouldn't be able to beat a piece of paper in the real world. You won't find one. You see, rocks are about solutions, not sound bites. Look. What's printed on paper? Just words! They may sound nice, but are words going to put food on your table? Or put a hole through a plate-glass window?
"Try going to the millions of Americans that come up to me every day and say, Keep fighting, Hillary, keep fighting, and tell THEM that paper beats rock. I owe it to my supporters to keep fighting."

Not to mention the horrid sight of a general contest between McCain and Clinton. Mud, accusations and slime all around.
It would turn off so many people, it wouldn't even be funny. At all. Yuck yuck yuck.
