Bush, three years ago today

On today’s date several years ago, our president came as close as he could to waxing poetic.

In this job you've got a lot on your plate on a regular basis; you don't have much time to sit around and wander, lonely, in the Oval Office, kind of asking different portraits, 'How do you think my standing will be?'

Answer: Mr. president, if you did have the time to ask them, and if they could speak, I’m certain the portraits of George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and the majority of the other 42 presidents would say:

You sir, do not belong on the wall among us.

At that time, an informal survey conducted at George Mason University’s History News Network revealed that 81 percent of historians deemed the Bush presidency as a "Failure". Of course, this was during a period when President Bush still enjoyed a stellar approval rating of nearly half of the American people. Given today’s climate, I’m of the opinion that historians would not be as generous to Bush.

Bush Countdown Clock: 308 days and 12 hours left!
