An open letter to Sinbad: Your next move
Dear Sinbad,
You can help Senator Obama become President Obama. The campaign needs your help right now and I want you to look for inspiration from an unlikely source, Geraldine Ferraro.
Remember when Ferraro just wanted the whole controversy to go away about her "lucky he's a black man" comment? And remember her most excellent plan to make it go away? It was brilliant! Go on every freaking news program for a week.
Sinbad, it's time to pull a double-reverse-Ferraro. We don't want this story to go away and we do want you talking about it. You need to get on the news every night for at least a week (cause I know you don't have anything else going on.) Go on CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, Jon Stewart, Saturday Night Live, and yes FOX. No matter how much the media may want to move on from Hillary's "misremembered" story about Bosnia, you were right about what happened and you will not be disrespected.
You need to demand a formal written apology from Senator Clinton. Every show you go on, demand that Hillary apologize for belittling you and your accurate memory of the trip to Bosnia. She also must apologize for disparaging you as just a comedian. You are a peace-maker and a red-phone-answerer just as she is. You just happen to have a better memory.
Sinbad, Obama needs you. America needs you. The truth needs you. Now, get out there and don't stop talking about that Bosnia trip until you get Hillary's signature at the bottom of an apology to you.
Thank you Sinbad!

I have met the Comedian Sinbad. I had finger foods with the Comedian Sinbad. My friends, I can tell you this with no uncertainty: Sinbad is more than just a comedian.
Sinbad is funny!

Oh my lord. Kos has this CBS video up (from tonight?) with just the words "ouch for Clinton." CBS's reporter who was on the Bosnia trip with Clinton revisits the day with video tape and Clinton's claims from last week juxtaposed.
Ouch indeed.

Sexist pig. Sheryl Crow is the true unsung hero in all of this!
March 24, 2008 4:33 PM | Reply | Permalink
But does she remember, or misremember?
Hey - wait a sec. We haven't heard a peep out of Ms. Crow.
Is she being kept silent by Clinton machine? Is she being held against her will in some Red Roof Inn by James Carville? Will she be the star witness to once and for all tell us what whether the bullets or the flowers were flying when the plane arrived in Bosnia?
Who will save Sheryl Crow from being silenced?
Sinbad!

Good one. Obvious in hindsight, and I wish I could take credit for a deliberate set up, but it was purely unintentional.

Great Post!
Here's an idea.
What this requires is a viral youtube campaign.
I'm imaging thousands of people uploading a quick clip of themselves looking staight at their webcam saying somekind of mantra-like phrase and perhaps holding a Barack Obama '08 sign, or a homemade "Chappaqua is beautiful in the spring" type sign.
Although I'm not in love with the idea, perhaps the simplest thing would be for everyone to say....
"I'M SINBAD"
...then leave the rest up to them; sign, props, etc.
The key is to get enough people and a wide enough cross section of society to take part (including some memorable characters, like a baby in Sinbad costume, some identical(a la "We're Sinbad") twins, and the occasional nudist thrown in for effect).
Then, whoever wants to, could collect as many as they wanted and edit them into a long....
"I'm Sinbad"
"I'm Sinbad"
"No, I'm Sinbad"
"I'm Sinbad"
...montage.
Then the thing gets so big a media storm follows and Sinbad gets invited onto a lot of shows to explain what inspired the whole thing.
What do ya' think?

It is too late for an apology. The Clintons demanded that Samantha Power be removed from the campaign for just referring to Hillary as a Monster, and after Ms. Power had immediately apologized.
This is a much more grievous offense. Senator Clinton openly questioned Sinbad's character and veracity.
Sinbad must not settle for a mere apology. He must demand that Hillary be removed from the campaign.

The real revelation here is that Sinbad has crossed the Clintonian "Commander in Chief Threshold" and would therefore be a natch for Obama's VP slot! As a bonus, think of the advantages in negotiating in the Middle East with Obama/Sinbad leading our country! Obama/Sinbad 08!

This thread is a sterling example of why Obama's ass is already kicked in November. It's because..wait for it...his supporters are so stupid. This thread sounds like a f'ing fratboy party. You've done it to yourselves. You've shot yourselves in both feet. Look...just do some basic math.
When you go into a general election, you need every (D) plus other voters. It's funny to see that you guys haven't even thought about that yet. You've been righteously and earnestly earning the contempt of half of the Democratic base while kidding yourselves that you'll somehow win in November.
Congratulate yourselves. You've effectively wrecked the Democratic party almost as effectively as Junior has wrecked the republican party.

Haven't you heard...
Joe Francis, of "Girls Gone Wild" fame, might be in a Federal penitentiary but that hasn't stopped him from dipping his wick in the '08 race. In attempt capitalize on Obama's popularity on college campuses, he's about to unveil a new video series called "Bare it for Obama" at handful of popular Spring Break destinations.
and by the way...
lighten up.

Indiex, lighten up will ya? Do you really think a couple of dozen politijunkies cyber-rattling is gonna make anyone change their mind about anything? Let's not delude ourselves about our impact in the real world. I assume your a clinton supporter so I have to ask; How could our geek banter hurt the party more than hillary's defacto endorsment of McCain or her mocking of Obama's supporters? How about her calling most of the states she did'nt win unimportant? or bill's race-baiting or questioning Obama's patriotism? Those are real party destroyers..a little perspective please.

Idiex is also right about needing D's to win the general. Ex-Hillarites may be difficult to persuade...
And, I graduated from a women's college, so I never even had to even endure proximity to frats... and I support Obama.

Re: the Bosnia landing story. Was Togo West lying when he said they told Hillary and Chelsea to go as fast as possible to their vehicles? Heads down, etc.?
I watched the 3/17 video, and he definitely said she was being carefully guarded.
I read a comment by a soldier who was in Bosnia at the time and this person said no filming was allowed of the actual landing and exiting...but I don't know if this commenter could address all landings, especially of VIPs and entertainers.
Is there any footage of the actual landing and exiting the plane?
March 25, 2008 12:21 PM | Reply | Permalink
It is on Youtube. Just do a search. Hillary walked off the plane with Chelsey by her side. They wore no protection jackets or helmets. There were no security guards around her. Hillary was walking slowly, smiling, and waving. There were press people walking behind her. One person was pushing a long boom microphone on wheels.
If there had even been a rumor of a sniper threat, none of those people would have been walking out in the clear open in that manner. It was just a big Fairy Tale concocted to make it appear that Hillary was tough.
Hillary has now passed The Threshold of Imaginary Brave Deeds, for the position of Commander in Chief!!!!!

Not sure who Sinbad is, I do no that Ferraro was 100% correct. Obama would not be in this race if he was white. Her has done little in his time in office that I can recall except vote for Cheney's energy bill. The worst bill in this nations history. He says it is a big deal he opposed the war but I do not recall him leading any rallys against it, or proporsing any bills to end it. or even voting to cut of funding for it. Or doing anything but give a speech in a campaign in a very liberal district where people were overwhelmingly against it. How courageous.

Mr. Obama was preparing his run for US Senator from Illinois at the time he addressed the Anti Iraq War rally. At that time the polls in Illinois were running at around 70% in favor of the Iraq Invasion, similar to what they were nationally. Therefore the prudent thing would be, like Hillary did, just heed the polls, and vote with them. He did the honorable thing and was true to his conscience. He spoke out against the planned invasion, even though the vast majority of people in Illinois were in favor of it. That makes Senator Obama a Profile in Courage, and Hillary a Profile in Jello!!!

Ami Tani...I think he'll be the nominee in a party split 50-50. But given the way the Obama supporters have alienated the Clinton supporters, look for a McCain slam dunk come November.
March 25, 2008 2:43 PM | Reply | Permalink
No one has alienated the supporters of either side. Some are supporting Obama, and others are supporting Hillary. That is what the primary season is about. If you can not support the winner then you are not a loyal Democrat, so stay out of our nomination process.

She does owe him an apology, to dismiss his comments just because he is a comedian, when she knew damn well she was the one lying, that was pathetic. And suddenly when the video evidence shows up, and she can't lie anymore, she says "oh, it was just a misstatement" and wants it to go away. Give me a break. The media better keep on this, and explore all of her other lies about her experience:
