Going largely unnoticed in liberals's exertions to defeat the forces of war-making, deception, and materialistic conservatism* is a small golden milestone. Today we slip below 300 days until the Cheney Misadministration leaves office further enriched but in abject shame. In just 299 days, America will have the opportunity to begin the long and difficult task of redeeming itself in the eyes of the world and in its own soul. The light at the end of the tunnel glows just a bit brighter.

Let all true progressives hope most fervently and work most feverishly to insure that neither the nation's leading neoconservative (Sen. McCain) nor the nation's leading paleoconservative (Sen. Clinton) is given the opportunity to snuff out that glow.
