Whither Michigan?

The debate over Michigan's (and Florida's) delegates will not go away any time soon unless there is some sort of compromise reached.  Letting the presenting constituted delegates sit is not a compromise--Obama's name was not even on the ballot.  Keeping them out is not a compromise--this would disenfranchise the state.

However, there is a third option.  The only real compromise would be a
do-over.  A new primary would not be possible, since the government would have to foot the bill, and that would not happen for a single party.  However, if the Democratic Party held caucuses for Michigan, the
delegate chosen in that way would be seated. That way, there would be
no argument about whether Michigan should be allowed its delegates or
not.  It seems that this would be the least divisive and dangerous path forward.  Michigan would get its delegates, and Obama would have his chance before the people of Michigan.

I agree, the only fair way is a do-over.
