Vote for your favorite excuse...
Lanny Davis' said "it's very hard to criticize Senator Obama without being accused of playing the race card"...
I wish everyone would stop knocking down the Hillary camp's excuses for why they have lost the nomination. They are looking for an out, so let's give them one. My vote would be that it's the media's fault since in general they suck anyway. But, we could go with perceived racism. Whatever, as long as we can move forward now.
What are some other excuses Hillary has used and which one do you like best?
Hat tip to TheraP for the advice to blog this...

Hands down, the Clinton Persecution Complex: that an esoteric hate of a completely irrational nature fuels a clandestine conspiracy to see her destroyed simply for being who she is.

Excellent contribution DF. I think a Democratic Persecution Complex exists to some extent already, but combine it with President Hillary's CPC and just imagine the moral indignation we could have in this country.

I'm going with the "impressionable elites" theory. As Mark Penn pointed out, Obama is only winning because we have an ever-expanding class of people who are impressionable (but might not know it) and elite (but definitely don't know it) and they're showing their elitism by supporting the "inexperienced" fresh-from-the-craddle upstart Junior Senator from Illinois, over the worldly, wise, Junior Senator (inexplicably) from New York with a worldly 35-ish years of experience.
I wanted to go with the Rush Limbaugh/Donovan McNabb corollary: America has just collectively decided that they like Obama more because he's Black and they want Black people to stop bitching* (but not start a revolution). Unfortunately, no one in the Clinton Camp has put forth this theory on the record yet, but it's coming. Until it is official, this is all just speculation on my part and I'll stand by the "impressionable elite" theory.
*Just FYI... As an inducement to those white voters who are voting for Barack Obama but don't actually like Black people, it should be noted that in the Blake Fleetwood Memorial Black People's Manifesto, once America elects a Black President, Black History Month is cancelled. It's up to you, White America. Are you tired of Black History Month yet or what?

(And yes, I am TOTALLY being sarcastic. We're not giving up Black History Month, damnit. It's ours. It may be the shortest month of the year, but we don't care. 28 days? 29 days? One can never tell. It has character. We're keeping it.)

Well it seems like the favored one currently is the "the media is out to destroy me" excuse (http://thepersonalispolitical.tumblr.com/post/27451031), which has apparently been completely internalized by SNL, making it fact.

After Texas, they'll say it's because Obama looks too good in a cowbow hat.

ondioline, another good one...impressionable elites aka those darn voters. I like it. Makes me think about the new threat to the Democratic party, independents and reality-based conservatives voting for Obama. I trust Mark Penn will come up with a good strategy to combat this, maybe too late for Hillary but in time for his next book release: "Postmortem for Democracy - Hillary was Robbed".
