So Hillary won the big states, but

the big states (CA & NY) are safe Democratic states..  Yet MSNBC is making a big deal out of the CA, NY, NJ and Mass wins claiming this better positions her for the general election.

Jmo, the election will be decided by who can takes like Minnesota, Missouri, Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado.  MN's not a safe blue state and MO, AZ, NM and CO could all swing blue...

Yea right! If Obama can’t even win those big democratic states what make you think he’s even be competitive in blue states when the republicans get through with him? Throughout this entire campaign Obama has been treated like a real affirmative action candidate by the liberal media….he is less vetted than most mayoral candidates in larger cities. His candidacy is worst than a fairy tail, it’s a national joke. To think we finally have a competitive black man running for president and he’s afraid to address black issues head on out of fear of appearing as a black candidate…..wtf???? Both Hillary and Edwards have addresses real issues of concern to African Americans and Hispanics than Obama which is why as an African American I proudly voted for Hillary Clinton yesterday in Massachusetts. You nutty liberals on the far left need to wakeup and smell the coffee before McCain is sworn in President. Because that’s exactly what is going to happen if Obama wins the democratic nomination. But somehow I really don’t think the lefties really care along as the can hang-up a liberal badge on their wall stating that our party elected a Blackman as our party candidate for president and experience and ability to perform the job be dammed. Go figure!!!

Either candidate would win California and New York in November. I find it remarkable that anyone would suggest that the vast majority of people supporting Clinton or Obama wouldn't support the the other candidate if nominated.

It is the states that can go either way that are very interesting and there Obama has a clear edge. I suspect both could win in November but feel Obama would win more handily.

Of course he isn't likely to win Alaska or Wyoming or other red states but I suspect he would carry more of the purple states like MN, WI, IA, NM, MO, NV, CO, OR, NH etc.

With delegates split proportionally, these "wins" you speak of mean nothing. It's the margins. And last night was a draw.

Which states were won in the primary matter little in the generals. These were, for the most part, Democrats voting tonight, almost all of whom will vote for the nominee in the generals. The results don't tell you how many Republicans from these states will cross party lines, how many of them will stay home, and how many additional Democrats will come out to vote.

The demographic breakdown and, in primaries that allow independents to vote, the political affiliation breakdown are more meaningful.
