Hillary Camp Unleashes "O-Bomber" Email Attack

ABC is reporting that the Clinton campaign has begun bombarding the media with a series of emails attempting to tie Barack Obama to the radical Weather Underground group. Phil Singer, a Clinton spokesman, wondered via email what the Republicans would do with such information. What information is it that ties Obama to 60's radicals? A $200 campaign contribution from 2001 and his attending a get-together in 1995 where a Weather Underground member was present.  Unfortunately for Senator Clinton, her husband seems to have pardoned members of the same group.

Is it safe to say that Hillary is not going quietly into that good night? It would seem that she is prepared to do anything she deems necessary to win this. These new attacks along with her renewed enthusiasm for seating Michigan and Florida point to us seeing an apocalyptic Democratic convention.

We sit around clucking about that abominable House GOP ad, when we've got a Democratic campaign pulling a similar stunt right under our noses?

Our A List bloggers need to be addressing this pronto.

We're all Democrats now.

The ABC piece is drawing on three articles being referenced by the Clinton campaign. A NY Sun article attempts to tell us how a former leader of the Weather Underground William Ayers is in town for to speak about education in a democracy but is titled "Leftist With Obama Ties Speaks At SUNY." The article mentions Ayers gave a whopping $200 to Obama's campaign in 2001. Wow.
Bloomberg and The Politico have their own "pieces" trying to tie Obama to Ayers. The Politico seems to think a party Obama attended in 1995 is a smoking gun. Bloomberg has amassed a nice summary of every recent attack on Obama and added a few others.

There is no real story here so far. Just more Clinton political carpet bombing to respond to Obama's primary Tet Offensive(can't recall where I read someone frame Obama's mo in that way- Id love to cite it).

That was me actually. I thought no one noticed it.

I noticed. Good line.

I noticed. Its a great line IMO.

Wow. This is from the Bloomberg piece

A Series of Bombings

The Weather Underground carried out a series of bombings in the early 1970s -- including the U.S. Capitol and the Pentagon. While Ayers was never prosecuted for those attacks, he told the New York Times in an interview published Sept. 11, 2001, that ``I don't regret setting bombs.''

Are they actually trying to tie Obama to 9-11???????

If this is really coming from the Clinton people then there are no depths to which they will not sink.

And all's the last guy in the world has to do is bum a dime from someone and put it in the phone, call up the FBI, and say FBI? And they say Yes? And say, I dig Uncle Ho and Chairman Mao and their friends are coming over for supper. And hang up the phone. And they got 10,000 feet of tape rolling. And not from when they first picked up the phone, but from when he first put the dime in.

I wrote on this yesterday:

It is despicable and any hopes that she was going to take the high road and bow out gracefully when the time came are for nought. They're going to drag everybody down with them. And it's still up on their website (check out the last sentence) - these people have no shame!

Sorry I missed your post Carol.

In Case You Missed It: “Obama once visited '60s ‘terrorists’.” Read more.

They embody what many of us hate about politics.

And Obama has unleashed the n-bomb on her. Gee, looks like campaign season, doesn't it?

Wow...and she has the audacity to accuse him of undermining the Democratic platform? Looks like she is taking Penn's advice to attack even harder. And his advice has served her so well up until now.

Honestly, I always thought she was smart, but I'm beginning to have second thoughts. Being smart and having good sense are two different things.

Hillary, please just go away before I end up being something I have never been...a Hillary hater.

SILLY SEASON. But, I get it now. At the end she makes clear that she's trying hype the Ohio debate. She's hoping to buy time and to instill doubt into people's mind to withhold breaking for Obama until that final debate. But she looks unhinged, and nasty. She's trying to muddy him up, but he's too cool, calm and collected. All Barack has to say is:

"Do I LOOK like George W. Bush and do I employ people like Karl Rove (ie - Mark Penn)???"

Also, did Paul Krugman write this attack? "Obama provides aid and comfort to the special interests and Republicans???" LAUGH OUT LOUD.

Finally, why wasn't she prepared enough at the Austin debate to mount this sort of (albeit silly) attack? Kinda looks like they don't have an answer to Obama's witty retorts until days later... Like Zoolander losing to Hansel. ("That Hansel, he's so hot right now.")

We simply need to Xerox the list of Clinton disasters: For the Clinton Scandal Index, refer to: http://prorev.com/legacy.htm...

Here is a sample:
THE HIDDEN ELECTION

USA Today calls it "the hidden election," in which nearly 7,000 state legislative seats are decided with only minimal media and public attention. But there was an important national story here: evidence of the disaster that Bill Clinton was for the Democratic Party. According to the National Conference of State Legislatures, Democrats held a 1,542 seat lead in the state bodies in 1990. As of 1998 that lead had shrunk to 288. That's a loss of over 1,200 state legislative seats, nearly all of them under Clinton. Across the US, the Democrats controled only 65 more state senate seats than the Republicans.

Further, in 1992, the Democrats controlled 17 more state legislatures than the Republicans. After 1998, the Republicans controlled one more than the Democrats. Not only was this a loss of 9 legislatures under Clinton, but it was the first time since 1954 that the GOP had controlled more state legislatures than the Democrats (they tied in 1968).

Here's what happened to the Democrats under Clinton, based on our latest figures:

- GOP seats gained in House since Clinton became president: 48
- GOP seats gained in Senate since Clinton became president: 8
- GOP governorships gained since Clinton became president: 11
- GOP state legislative seats gained since Clinton became president: 1,254
as of 1998
- State legislatures taken over by GOP since Clinton became president: 9
- Democrat officeholders who have become Republicans since Clinton became
president: 439 as of 1998
- Republican officeholders who have become Democrats since Clinton became president: 3

This has become Clinton's modus operandi: Make a personal attack to which she herself is vulnerable. Who's using Rovian tactics again?
