Clinton: "Obama supporters want me to lose."

This just breaking: The Clinton campaign now claims that Obama supporters are rooting for her to lose.

Clinton campaign manager Maggie Williams told the Times, "This is a sign of how mean-spirited and hostile the Cult of Obama has become: his supporters actually want Hillary to lose the primaries, and are working to make sure that this happens."

Mark Penn added, "We still believe that Hillary Clinton will be the democratic nominee for President.  However, if by chance she is not, we believe it is directly attributable to the fact that Obama supporters refused to vote for her."

I know I do.

Um, DUH. Maggie deserves a raise for that incredibly astute insight.

This is a joke, isn't it?

Does the whole campaign feel that same sense of entitlement as Hilllary?

Sorry. It's my dry wit.

ahh...these comments are hilarious. Obama supporters (in general, at TPM) are so out of touch they believe ANYTHING that's written about Hillary's campaign. Way to go, kids! Keep it up. Distort and react and distort and react, outrage is fun!

Maggie Williams has alot of nerves to refer to people who support Obama has a cult. I would like to think that people are supporting him for the change he plans to bring for the country. Also the burden that this war has cause on families and the nation. Therefore, Hillary offers no sense of change if she has to recycle Ms Williams from the past.

Whoa, Whoa people.... It's a joke....

Maggie Williams and Mark Penn have definitely said any number of stupid things, but these statements are not among them.

I'd add a "/satire" on the end.

Now I notice this!

LOL

Not exactly a cosmic breakthrough. I guess Hillary's supporters are hoping Obama loses.

It's not your fault, Dan.

Sadly, it is in the realm of the possible for them to say that.

LOL

Umm, maybe I'm missing something, but in a two way contest one person will win and the other will lose. If you support one candidate winning then you obviously want the other person to lose.

Maybe Clinton should have hired John Madden instead of Mark Penn.

You should have left out the "cult" part, still, kind of funny.

HAHAHAHAHAHA! Great! I got TR'd over at DKos for saying the following:

"Something you need to understand is that we Obama supporters ENJOY beating Hillary in primaries. We think it's teh best thing evar."

TR'd and had my ass chewed good.

I agree with boonagain- even though the satire is hilarious and would fly great in a "Weekend Update" sketch, the fact is that we have heard Sen. Clinton's campaign say just about anything they can to rally support/shame others in their favor.

Take it as a compliment, Dan, that so many got riled up, because it shows the degree to which a statement like this is within the realm of possibility.

Thanks for chuckle.

Bill Clinton: "Obama Supporters Vow to Not Vote for Hillary in Primary."

CNN, MSNBC and Fox News have confirmed that Bill Clinton will hold a press conference today to announce that a large group of Democrats are part of an organized and coordinated effort to vote for Obama in the primary election.

"Can you believe it? The Obama campaign thinks they can win the nomination with their message of unity and personal responsibility, 11 consecutive victories by margins of 15% or more, rallies of 20,000 people, one million donors..." said the former president.

"It feels like the skies have parted, choirs are singing and an angel has just taken a big runny dump on my dream", said Hillary. "MY dream."

Tim Russert:

Is it true, Senator Clinton, that your campaign is responsible for releasing this info at tpm?"

"Yes or no, I want an answer now!"

This is hilarious. What's even funnier is that it's believable.

Well good heavens, of COURSE I want Hillary to lose! How else can Barack win? I don't mind Hillary so much, but that enormous amount of baggage that's going to come with her is just too much. Especially the 6'4" one. You've heard of the camel inching little by little into the tent? I'll say no more.

I'm asking this in the politest possible way, but could you please find a quiet, non-moving "figure" for your posts?

Thank you in advance. These things make me queasy, and it will cause me to skip over your post as well as others nearby.

Thank you, dear poster. You have my gratitude! I love the little dog!

What's really funny here is that half the commenters don't even get the (obvious and fairly amusing) joke.

It really makes you question the general intelligence quotient of humanity.

Hmm...not sure if I prefer "fairly amusing" or Diet's "kind of funny."

Oh well, can't win 'em all.

oh no, you win this one... to be so funny that half the world doesn't even get the joke is the highest comedic success.

You just made my day.

Those are probably the two "stupidest" things I have heard this election season. Duh! It's either Clinton loses or Obama loses...guess who Obama supporters are rooting for "Einsteins".

And we have another winner!

Ooops, sorry TheraP. Just changed it!

I'm so grateful, I'm thanking you twice. Much appreciated.

So funny! I saw this "announcement" reprinted as part of a comment on a campaign article. I thought it was a joke but had to google it just to make sure. Like most effective humor, it works because of its strong roots in reality.
Thanks. I needed a laugh.

That really is the funniest part. There is no longer any way to satarize anything involving the Clinton campaign. This, if it were true, would have been one of the top 20 dumbest things I have heard her campaign say this year...... (notice I didn't pick top 5 or 10) :)

Mark Penn added, "We still believe that Hillary Clinton will be the democratic nominee for President. However, if by chance she is not, we believe it is directly attributable to the fact that Obama supporters refused to vote for her."

Uhhhh, yes? Who in the name of Alfred E Newman does the man expect an Obama supporter to vote for?

I really hope he was joking. I would hate to think that Clinton is relying on someone that clueless to advise her campaign.

Another winner! ♪♪♪
