Bill Cunningham + NPR = Hysterical
Not only did Cunningham renounced his support for Senator McCain, not only did he say he thought it would be great to have a person with Obama's name be president, but claimed he did it out of honor to Obama.
I encourage you to listen to it.

Did anyone have problems with this reporting? If so, please explain why?

I'm not sure. I think the problem here is that you can't really nail Cunningham on this. It's easy to see what he's doing, but he can always just give the excuse that he has. I saw Ari Fleischer say the same thing this afternoon on CNN. It's just his name, right? There's nothing racist about that! It's the same story with the picture of Obama in the Somali garb. Cunningham knows damn well that he's saying it to play on the irrational fear and ignorance of Muslims that has pervaded American culture since 9/11.
The only thing you can really do to the guy is say, "I know damn well what you're doing whether you admit it or not." The problem for reporters is that this doesn't really agree with what a journalist is supposed to be doing (though that's frequently not enough to stop them from doing some pretty stupid things at times.)

Sorry about replying to the wrong thread. I wonder if he's any relation to Richie Cunningham? I think Leather Tuscadero would kick his ass for spewing that nonsense.
