Behind the Times McCain Story
I think it's important to note that Marilyn Thompson, one of the authors of the McCain piece, quit the Times a month or so ago to return to the Washington Post, where she had been assistant managing editor for investigations. It is not unreasonable to assume that she got fed up with the Times sitting on the story for months and then letting its lawyers water it down to pablum.

So today's manufactured controversy is the revelation that Barack Obama wore a turban during a congressional delegation's visit to a village in Sudan. Presumably then other delegation members wore similar dress. Where are their pictures in today's press? Anyone? Bueller?
