  • I know that looks are not supposed to matter, but Gov. Palin looks like the checker at the grocery store, the Junior League President, or the PTA mom and her speaking voice and cheerleader presentation fits that persona. Where is the gravitas? The first thing that comes to mind is why is this woman not home taking care of a new baby with special needs? That may sound sexist, but when Elizabeth Edwards cancer returned, I thought the same thing about the Edwards. Why were not refocusing on their young children instead of the Presidential Campaign? Palin went from Mayor, to heading an industry board to Govenor of a sparsely populated state. I can't wait to see her debate Biden.

  • The way that John McCain treats women, (his first wife, his second wife), I see McCain wanting someone in the #2 spot that he can treat invisibly. Palin would just be a prop not getting in the way. She would be the exact mirror opposite of Cheney. A non-VP. You can see how McCain treats women. Look at Cindy dutifully standing behind him at every moment on the campaign trail. Michelle Obama is out there campaigning on her own. Cindy rarely speaks and is like she is tethered to his little coat subserviantly. This pick is a gift to the DEMs.

  • MSNBC may have had some lumps and bumps, but CNN sought out every negative impression and every GOP opinion available to throw in their two cents. This has been CNNs worst week ever covering any story. They have been completely disgusting.

  • McCain is like the washed up old guy from Hollywood that had one hit record, or one great movie decades ago, that has lived off that one moment ever since. Since that time he has failed the character test, cheating on his crippled wife, leaving his kids, Keating Five, lobbiest favors, abandoning principaled positions for political gain, untruthful smear ads, et al. I would rather vote for anyone that did a bad thing years ago and since has lived an exemplary life, than someone that showed character years ago and since then has lived a slimey life. We are who we are today, and McCain is certainly not much to admire today.

  • Political primaries are hard fought races. The Clinton Campaign fought as hard as any candidate could. Some say fairly, some say unfairly. The media is never fair. Look back to Gore and Kerry as two examples. Every candidate has the enemy of the opponent and sometimes the media is another opponent. Some people feel the media was hard on Hillary, some think not hard enough regarding some of the things her campaign did.

That said, when the nominee is chosen, all the challengers are expected to rally behind the nominee with all they have to offer. They are not to make demands or engage in distracting high drama. They are expected to do everything possible to deliver their supporters to the winner to ensure party victory.

Can anyone say this has happened with the Clintons? Every speech, every appearance, there is always a "BUT" or a less than enthusiastic aside to downright withholding of complete support.

Perhaps they know that this was Hillary's only chance at the Presidency and it is lost and they want to get even. If they don't feel that way, they have created that situation by their actions.

  • Why would law enforcement tell this to the press until they were certain of the facts. This smells of fear to me. The responsible thing would be to get the facts first. If this turns out not to be true, the seed has been planted among other nutcases.

  • The ad is very good. It makes McCain look like he is really reaching beyond all sense. I also think making ONE point at a time is the best way to deliver a message. The GOP has perfected messaging. They know to KEEP IT SIMPLE and repeat it over and over because the public is basically simple minded.

  • If the media had any integrity, this would not even be news. Bill is no longer in government. The torch has been passed to Obama. Who cares what Bill thinks or if his ego needs massaging. Wolfson is a weasel. Are our memories so short as to forget what a liar and creep he was during the primaries.

  • The term "evangelical" means to "spread the good news," presumably about Christ. How can he ask the evangelicals for support, when he does not want to talk about his faith. Sounds anti-evangelical to me.
