  • Anyone note the irony of her trotting out the race-baiting garbage about Obama and Wright at an event at the newspaper owned by Richard Mellon Scaife? You know, the Richard Mellon Scaife who spent millions smearing the Clintons, and whose paper alleged that the Clintons had murdered Vince Foster?

Hillary Clinton disgusts me. She doesn't have a shred of decency.

And, sadly, I have come to believe that the people who claimed that she will work to undermine Obama so that McCain is elected, so that she can run again in 2012, are right.

  • I wrote Emily's List as well to express my unhappiness with their MISUSE of my funds, and requested that they remove my name from their emails and fund-raising drives. Hillary Clinton is hardly a woman who has is entering politics, or one who has EVER lacked ANY opportunity. To think that I've actually talked them up and passed out their literature.

I'm not a BIG contributor, but I have been a steady one. I'm hoping that I'm not the only one who has voiced her displeasure with the organization, and resigned from it.

  • Clinton ALREADY had a credibility problem.

Is there NO ONE in her campaign (or in the party) who has thought about how toxic it would be to run a candidate whom people thought was so blatantly and self-servingly untruthful?

  • Tena....

I think this may be the first time that 'Clintons' and 'gracious' have appeared in the same sentence.

jed757 nailed it again. The Clintons' arrogance is breath-taking.

And they are junk-yard dogs: if they can't win, they don't care what anyone else (including the party and the country) loses.

If the Democratic party actually had any leadership, or even more than a handful of people who are not decerebrate, they would close this down.

  • Why are people staying stuck on Wright? (I wanted to type 'stuck on wrong')

Obama's speech provides him with reasonable distance from Wright's words. Are people really prepared to abandon Obama because he did not throw Wright under the bus? Because he did not storm out of allegedly offensive sermons? When did this become the criterion by which we judge someone's character? When did it become appropriate for the people to scrutinize the words uttered from the pulpit in a house of worship?

And why isn't ANYONE talking about Hillary's association with VERY dubious religious figures? She is an active member of "The Family," a collection of right-wing intolerants.

And then there's that little thing about McCain's courting the support of Hagee, whose remarks about Catholics and Jews (and gays and Muslims) make Wright's pale in comparison.

If Wright's remarks are SUCH a big deal, why aren't these other things campaign torpedoes for Clinton and McCain?

  • I don't see how Hillary manages to spin her NAFTA story into anything but....well....trash.

Did she really oppose NAFTA when she was First Lady and Bill was busy selling American jobs and environmental regulatory control to the corporatists?

There seem to be two choices: Either she DID oppose it, but was so ineffectual that she had NO effect on the outcome, and could not even get PRESS coverage, or

She did NOT oppose it, and is simply lying now.

Where's the up-side here for her?

Someone tell me, please: what the hell is John Edwards waiting for?

  • I don't see how Hillary comes off as anything but an idiot here:

Let's suppose that the reports are correct: she did work for NAFTA when she was First Lady. If so, then she is exposed as a hypocrite and a liar. Instead of attacking the Obama campaign for not playing fair (or nice) with her, why isn't she explaining the inconsistency?

Let's suppose that the reports are false: she did not work for NAFTA when she was First Lady, and in fact actively opposed it. This doesn't put her in a better light: First, there are evidently NO records that support this interpretation. Second, she is shown to be disloyal to her husband's policy AND ineffective: her allegedly strenuous efforts against NAFTA were so lame that they did not get any publicity.

    Either way....

  • The proposed 're-do'was a disaster: quite a few Democrats voted in the Republican primary BECAUSE THEY WERE TOLD THAT THE DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY WOULD NOT COUNT.

These Democrats would be barred from participating in the 're-vote.'

So Hillary's professed worries about disenfranchising Democrats in Michigan are as much lies and spin as her claim that the votes cast for her in the Michigan primary that SHE HAD ACKNOWLEDGED DID NOT COUNT should suddenly count, now that she is losing.

  • Why is it that there is NO TALK about Hillary's involvement with a group that--at least to people on the Left--makes Wright look nowhere near so bad?

Hillary is a member of 'The Family,' a right-wing fundamentalist religious organization base in D.C. They are appalling; she is deeply involved in it.

This is something that simply puts the lie to Hillary Clinton's being to the left of center.

And it raises LOTS of questions about what she stands for, and who she is affiliated with.
