It sounds as though he'll try to remove immunity before the vote. The House and Senate have voted on different bills, so another vote is coming. Let's hope for a filibuster. I've already contacted my senators.

Cindy Sheehan is running against Pelosi. If we all sent her a little money...if we could send a message to Pelosi by empowering her opponent, maybe we can create some change. Now, I realize that Sheehan may not be the strongest politician and her chances to win may be slim to none (I'm not trying to insult Cindy), but a more legitimate candidate may get the message when Sheehan suddenly has a war chest and will decide to not let Pelosi have a free ride.
Am I being naive?

AnitaBee is on point.
I've been disturbed by the idea of giving Clinton the benefit of the doubt. Talk about appeasement. Members of the press, as well as people posting on this site, keep telling us that's she's ready to wrap up. We back off only to find her actions are contrary to these statements. We're assuming that Obama's move to the general election is going to bring an end to the primary season. There's no evidence that she's going to leave without the "encouragement" of super delegates. Her rhetoric is that she has every reason to continue right through to the convention. At this point, it's not about the primary; it's about winning the soul of the Democratic party. In that context, who thinks that anyone should be less critical of Hillary Clinton?
Furthermore, I don't understand what we mean by bashing. I hate when Hillary is criticized for things that have nothing to do with the process. However, criticizing her for staying in the race and threatening to drag on this process is not bashing. Using the term "bashing" -- even if Andrew Golis suggests that some of it could be fair -- suggest some lack of fairness by those who don't agree with her. I don't think unfairness exists in this case.

And the popular vote totals in Iowa, Maine Nevada and Washington are...?
Do you really think that Obama would have 0 votes in Michigan if his name was on the ballot.
Any popular vote argument disenfranchises voters in all these states. If Clinton feels so strongly about the popular vote, she can spend the next four years working to change party rules so that the caucus states change their format to primaries and we can determine the true popular vote. Until then, the rules are clear: It's all about the delegates.

You're really missing the point.
You're right that Clinton's statements are not going to inspire someone to kill Obama. This is not about inspiring an assassin; It's about the use of assassination as a political tool. Is the possibility that a candidate could be assassinated a valid reason to vote for another candidate? This is no different than showing Osama bin Laden in a campaign ad. It is the "politics of fear."

Thank you Sen. McCain not only for painting yourself into a corner, but also for assisting us Dems with our post-primary unity.
Way to go, Maverick.

While I think this is a weakness for Obama, I'm not terribly concerned. We take for granted that, for parts of the country, Obama is an unknown who is still more defined by viral email then by his actual words. I think racism is in play, but not to the degree that some think. The MSM gets more bang out of the race thing than the general public.
Now, Obama has conceded West Virginia in an effort to take the bang out of Clinton's victory. It may not help him in WV, but I think it's a good strategy. The real question is: If Clinton is true to her word about campaigning for the nominee, can she deliver the state?

Great post.
I think that at the edges, supporters on both sides have been nasty. Even some of us who try to be reasonable have gotten caught up in the process. Healing the party is going to happen from the bottom up. We can't wait just wait for the perfect statement from our candidate.
Thanks for reaching out. It restores my faith in the process.
