The only question in my mind: where on the Dersh's "continuum of civilianality" do we find Marty Peretz's "cheerleaders and camp followers?"

I hate to stick up for Goldberg, especially since he was too obtuse to notice this himself, but Murtha actually does repeat "we cannot win this" without a qualifier at the 3:10 mark in the interview.

Semantics aside, Murtha's position in the interview is clearly that the US needs to leave and let the Iraqis deal with things themselves. I don't think Goldberg's original post misrepresents that.

Goldberg is still one of the most vapid narrative parrots in conservative circles. And the fact that hours later, he seems to forget that he never misquoted Murtha in the first place, and tries to finger the Times as an accomplice, is hilarious.
