Great post. Your logic is too clear!

What Israel and America does not need is a triangulating American president to further muddy the waters - certainly not one who has trouble doing the right thing in order to appear tough. That seems to be how the problem started and why it continues.

Isrealis, Palestinians and the whole Middle East need a fair and tough American president to apply serious pressure to all parties to resolve the I/P conflict and the other ones it seems to engender. We need a president who can see beyond the latest infraction and not be an accomplice in setting pretexts or ridiculous preconditions to stack some more bargaining chips at the negotiating table.

There has been alot of chip stacking for 40+ years and unless I missed something, the chips are not what this is about.
