Some Practical Advice for Sen. Clinton
Tim Russert and the rest led me to believe that the Clinton campaign knew it was over when the results came in from North Carolina and Indiana. You only had to look at Bill and Chelsea Clinton's faces. She would...more »

A Debate Worth Watching
Hillary Clinton asks Barack Obama, "why won't you debate me?" She wants a debate, and to get one she's even proposing to shake up the format quite a bit. No moderators, just timed statements and rebuttals. To be honest, I'm...more »

Am I the only one that noticed that while the idea of increasing posts in the recent list is good, combining muckraker and election central posts into this new list doesn't really give them anymore "breathing room." By combining two lists of 10 you've only given them an added buffer of 5. The double posts alone negate any benefit you'd gain from that.
Being able to edit posts for spelling and grammar and also to add updates would be nice. If you could also delete a post, you'd solve the pesky double post problem.

I've always thought Gov. Sebelius would be great, but it just occurred to me that Bill Richardson is better in that he is more vetted.

The joint ticket would be a huge mistake. Obama has run on changing business as usual in Washington, and in the process he cast Hillary Clinton as a Washington insider attached to the old politics. The argument that he needs her to appeal to certain demographics is faulty too. There are other people in the party that appeal to those demographics that have longer resumes and none of the baggage. (Gov. Sebelius) I want to start mending fences with Clinton supporters, but after the way she ran her campaign she gave up any claim she has to the VP spot. If she truly believes that he's unelectable, it would be more in her interest to campaign her ass off for him to win back good will in the party and when he loses she can run her 2012 "I told you so" campaign.
There has been talk that when she withdraws Obama will assume her campaign's debt. That's a pretty spicy tab to pick up. It's pretty shitty to have to pay for attack ads against you, but if that's the price of keeping her off the ticket and making her supporters happy, I think it's worth it. There should be an agreement that all of her bundlers and maxed out donors should max out for him to help cover it though.

My #1 is Gov. Sebelius. I think she is very capable, has red state appeal (her Lt. Gov is the former Kansas GOP Party Chair), and would go a long way to mending fences with baby booming feminists that feel Hillary has been victimized.
Last night, I heard Chris Matthews say he might need to pick one of her supporters like Gov. Vilsack, or Gov. Rendell. I think he just has Rendell on his brain because he's from Philly and apparently is planning to run for Sen. Spector's seat in 2010. Rendell is a horrible surrogate and a worse VP pick. He has serious diarrhea of the gaffe.

Btw, this isn't a concession that Sen. Clinton will be the nominee. This is merely a concession that if she somehow managed to get the nomination, she could A) win, and B) would be a better president than John McCain even if still a huge dissapointment.

One way to save americans money at the pump would be to pressure George Bush to open up the strategic reserve, increasing supply. The tax will not decrease demand. If anything, incentives to use less gas are what we need. I have a disgusting commute and the price at the pump is killing me, but I also know that I shouldn't be driving this much period. It's against my economic interests, but it's also bad for the environment which goes against many other interests but also economic.

Couldn't they have asked him what he thinks about gas tax hollidays? Since economists' opinions are worthless, Gore's environmental perspective might be illuminating. Last I checked, both candidates said he would be integral in shaping their energy policy. I bet he has an opinion on the matter, and I think I know what it is.

About questioning the victim. I thought the identities of victims of sex crimes, especially minors, were kept anonymous? Wouldn't the victim have to present herself if she wants to be questioned?
