Our dumbed down electorate is best-described by Alan Jackson's lyrics in "Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning"

I watch CNN but I'm not sure I could tell you
The difference in Iraq and Iran..."

Anything more nuanced than that will be regarded as "being for the terrorists" and will get chopped up and fed into the cable "gotcha" machine.

I can see why they would prefer to just get elected instead.

They are hoping that Hillary barely loses the Democratic nomination so McCain can name her as his Republican VP. She's a better Republican attack dog against Obama than Lieberman.

Israel is a failed state, founded on a flawed premise.

If the settlements remain, hope for a two-state solution will disappear and Israel will have the dubious distinction of declaring their Jewish minority as the apartheid rulers over their pseudo-democracy.

The country will be neither Jewish nor democratic.
