  • Since Lieberman isn't really a democrat, I'm curious to know how everyone feels about Obama endorsing him. I always thought it made him a DLC moderate and not a progressive. Someone please explain this to me. Thanks

  • So what is it Obama is offering these people? Empty words. His campaign says it is about "politics" not "policy". How does this help anyone find a job? "Hope" don't buy beer.

  • I'm sure Ms. Melgar heard exactly what she says she heard, unfortunately it doesn't sound that way to the "typical white person". What many Pennsylvanians heard was "we're bigots" and don't like people who don't look and act like us. No matter how you slice it, this is not particularly a good thing and cannot really be spun into more magic dust. This stinks and obviously Obama realized it or he wouldn't be apologizing. Just try to move on and hope for the best. You can pretty much count on the media saying Hillary overplayed it and that will end the tale.

  • As usual Hillary is the duplicitous person and Barack is pure honesty. Please, it was his campaign that said this election is about "politics not policy". Well I don't know about you, but I think "policy" is pretty important to solve todays and tomorrows problems. A "kinder gentler" politics will not suffice, no matter who delivers the message. Did this country not elect a "uniter not a divider"?One thing he said which no one seems to be discussing is what he said about trade, it really sounded as if he were in favor of free trade agreements, I think that needs a little clarification.

  • Good grief. The ugliness, that is why so many of us fear the future general election. Pay more attention to Bob Somerby, never let the media go after one of ours even if you detest that person. The media will eventually have a go at your candidate and what will be your defense?

  • "Words matter" as we've heard ad nauseum and what the Rev. Wright said will matter to a lot of voters, believe it or not, not all things are relevant to skin color. Rev.s Hagee, Robinson, Falwell et. al are just as guilty.

  • I don't think Ickes is emphasizing anything about race (yes we realize Obama is African-American), that isn't relevant, the good Rev. is the problem it's his "words that matter".

  • My favorite thing about the mailer is that Obama was supposed to be about "change" and a new way to campaingn. None of this divisive, negative business, so when is he going to begin? This sure looks like the same old sad politics of yesteryear. I guess he's not so different afterall.

  • Oh please! He's suddenly seen the light. He used the good reverend and now he is an impediment to his higher goals. He is so typical of all politicians. Someone come to his defense and tell me how he offers a new way. I say, he like Hillary and John McCain, all the same. No Paul Wellstone in the bunch. This behavior of his is despicable and common. Who ever they are throw them overboard if they become a problem. Where is his vaunted integrity now? On the trash heap of expediency.
