  • I'm Discouraged

As I watch the media-manufactured furor about Obama's minor gaffe in San Francisco, I am completely discouraged  and disgusted with the way so many of my fellow citizens will swallow the most contrived nonsense without seeing the absurdity of it...more »

  • This is not just another vote. It is a betrayal of the principles he proclaims. He stands revealed as a man who puts pragmatism before principle...a true democrat. I have a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. You have said nothing to cure that.

  • This is terribly disheartening. Although I have been a strong Obama supporter, I'm afraid that my hope has been misplaced. Is he just another democrat who's afraid to take a stand? I fear that he may be. I'll wait until this thing is finally settled before I make up my mind, but things don't look good for the home team and we're in the ninth inning.

  • I completely agree. This is, for me, an opportunity to see the type of leadership Barack would bring to the presidency. As the party's nominee, he would hopefully have the power to stop this. I'm hoping that my audacity of hope is not misplaced.

  • Otto, after HRC's blatantly racial remarks today in the USA Today interview, I find your comments about "laying off" Hillary pretty laughable. She makes it impossible for most of us to show her any respect at all.

  • Believe me, if you go to barackobama.com and let them know that you want to do something, you will not lack for suggestions. They are excellent campaign organizers and will use whatever talents you have effectively. YMMV

  • Has anyone seen Hillary come out and condemn the Willy Horton ad that the NC Repubs have prepared. I understand that they have now agreed not to run it, but they don't need to; they got it run over and over by the news channels as news, and it didn't cost them a dime. As far as I know, McCain has condemned the ad, but Hillary has remained silent.

  • It's particularly self-serving when the major news outlets have been running that ad (for free) over and over again in the name of "news".

    God I hate repubs!!!

  • Thank you very much for this wonderfully presented insight by an actual observer. Your conclusions have that same ring of truth that I get from Obama, much to my consternation. I'm in my seventies and have never before voted FOR someone; each election I was voting AGAINST the worst evil. If Hillary wins the nomination, I will have to revert to that position again, but I still very optimistic that THIS TIME, I will be able to vote FOR Barack Obama.
