- : Douglas S. Reed is an Associate Professor of Government at Georgetown University, where he teaches Constitutional Law, Judicial Politics and Politics of Education. He is the author of On Equal Terms: The Constitutional Politics of Educational Opportunity and is currently working on a book entitled Building the Federal Schoolhouse: American Education and the Local Politics of School Reform. He was named a Carnegie Scholar by the Carnegie Corporation of New York and was an Advanced Studies Fellow at Brown University. An Oregon native, he learned ward politics on the mean streets of New Haven, Connecticut and now lives in Arlington, Virginia with his wife Denise Brennan, two kids, and a hamster named Cinnamon.
