This Is What McCain Thinks are "Regular People"? My Fellow Prisoners of Hate and Fear.
So I just read this appalling statement by McCain's spokesbigot, Brian Rogers. Barack Obama's attacks on Americans who support John McCain reveal far more about him than they do about John McCain. It is clear that Barack Obama just doesn't...more »

First Rolling Stone, Now Esquire. You Must Read This!
Esquire Magazine has just endorsed Barack Obama! In a scathing indictment of both Bush and McCain, Esquire clearly states that Barack Obama is the only choice, and the only hope for this democracy. I was stunned at the candor and...more »

A Call To Action! Prepare for Voter Fraud, Suppression and the Stolen Electon
Recent and past articles have pointed to the fact that this election, like the past two, are likely to be tainted by all kinds of problems related to voter suppression, mistakes in the registration process, fraud and untrustworthy electronic voting...more »

We the Losers
John McCain and Sarah Palin turned a corner last week, after the Vice Presidential debate. Palin managed not to embarrass herself too badly, and therefore was declared a winner, and apparently ready to be vice president, and possibly president, without...more »

Dr. Negative - Full Throated Satire
All I can say is that, in all this commotion, fear and turmoil, humor still helps. I ran across this tasty bit of satire from headofstate.blogspot.com that I thought might brighten your day - at least some of you. It's...more »

McCain-Palin Now It's Hatred and Violence - "Kill him!" Be Afraid.
All right. There IS a limit to how far it's acceptable to go with negative campaigning, and the McNasty and the Pitbull have exceeded the limit now. They need to tone it down before something really bad happens. I'm having...more »

Criminal Associations
I ran across this article from the Pittsburg Tribune-Review by Ralph R. Reiland, who is listed as a columnist. His brief bio states that he is an associate professor of economics at Robert Morris University and a local restaurateur. In his...more »

What I Learned In a Weekend of Canvassing for Obama
Over the past two days, my wife and I took time out of our busy lives to walk through the neighborhoods of our traditionally conservative town and go door to door talking to people about Obama. We were roughly following...more »

My Letter to Kathleen Parker at WaPo
Ms. Parker dared to call out Sarah Palin, and now she has been demonized by the mindless Right. She wrote a column today that spoke of the kinds of emails she has received from the rabid idiots that think...more »

It is all-too true. It's pretty much the same image that came to my mind. You create monsters, and they eventually come back to destroy their creators, and any number of innocent bystanders.
Good job, McCain. Good job, Palin. Reap what you sow.

I wish I believed that, Jason. But I think about the rabid hatred that many right wingers had for Clinton - still have for Clinton. Nothing he ever did would dissuade them from that hatred.
If there really is going to be healing in this country, it's going to have to come (as Obama says change will come) from the bottom up. Obama can, I hope, be a model, but it will take all of us somehow reaching out to others, somehow getting though the thick hide of prejudice, bigotry, fear and entrenched belief systems that prevent people from evolving and growing mentally and spiritually.
I hope we can do it, for this country's sake.

I hear you, Scientific. I have my own responses to this atrocity and the tragedy of our country being manipulated for this man's and his despicable creature's ambitions.
There's a lot of healing needed in this country, but I fear it will never happen.

I have followed Palast's work off and on, and believe he is doing heroic work to try to wake this country up.
It's clear that we have to be prepared.

The lack of boundaries makes sense. I see her as someone in a stage of development when they suddenly discover their power over the world, as infants, toddlers and teenagers might, and is so taken up with it that she has no idea what she is really doing. Of course, she's so narcissistic and generally unpleasant, self-righteous and self-referential, that she'll just go right ahead, you betcha, and get that crowd screamin' and a hollerin'.

I'm surprised this post made it onto the top list after all this time. I thought it was long gone. But I recommend that you not rec it now, to make room for other posts. If you want to, point people to the article at HuffPo:
