Supposedly, that goes for Bristol, as well.

I figured this was part of the strategy. Use any little thing that sounds sexist about this woman against Obama.
Could the hint about Sarah's pregnancy have been a leak to innoculate her against this whole thing?
Liberals have been saying, "Let it go. Sounds like Karl Rove." Maybe they were right?

I'm a Christian, and I have been praying for God to turn the storm around and make it dissipate. I kinda feel guilty about that because it's not purely for love of my fellow man. It's just don't want McCain to be able to use it to his advantage. I hope God understands.
It makes me sick. McCain goes to the Gulf Coast for his photo op. Meanwhile, Republicans are "reluctantly" foregoing their conventions, holding fundraisers for hurricane victims instead -- looking all sympathetic to the poor victims of the tragedy, all the while looking like fine, upstanding citizens. Don't get me wrong. That's really nice of them, and some of them are really sincere. But many are not.
Christians like fundraisers for disaster victims. It's a way they can help out. I know -- I organized the mission effort for my church for several years. It causes a groundswell of support, and makes people feel they're doing their "Christian duty."
Hopefully, most non-evangelical Christians will remember that the Republican Party sat on its hands during Katrina and will see through this act.

She steals Obama's thunder. All the media will be jabbing about her instead of Obama's speech.
She might also be attractive to PUMAs.

My husband, who hates all things politics, said he heard a commentator say before the speech that Hillary had to do a good job last night or her career in Washington was over. I doubted that, but I'm sure she was concerned about the impact it would make on her career.
However, I have never been a Clinton supporter, yet I thought her speech was just perfect. She was fluid and natural. She didn't seem stiff at all.
And... who cares if she's in it for 2012? This is 2008, and we have work to do.

I heard Bill Nichols, managing editor of Politico.com, tell all DC news radio WTOP that Hillary gave only a "perfunctory" performance -- a "bare minimum of support for Obama." She "did what she had to do, but she barely did what she had to do." He said Hillary spoke primarily to her supporters, and the Obama campaign probably was okay with this speech, but it wasn't the "unifying moment they'd hoped it would be."
He said the Obama campaign was "realistic" about this speech and that she "did do enough that they'll be able to move on from this."
