  • Hillary Clinton: The next Ralph Nader?

With all of the harsh rhetoric and doubt continuously pushed by the Clinton campaign against Barack Obama, Hillary may be putting herself in the unenviable position of being the scapegoat should Obama lose the election. Already, the Republicans are using...more »

  • Waterboard this ...

I guess we'll have to start waterboarding Michael Mukasey in order to get a straight answer out of him. According to all of the "conservatives" we need to retain "Enhanced Interogation Techniques" in order to have the option of gleaning...more »

While he does nothing for Obama almost anywhere, might he help Obama carry Florida?

    Webb

I think he's got a lot of negatives both as a politician and strategically, but if the strategy Obama is going to go with is Mountain states and VA, NC, SC ... Webb would probably be a good choice. I would be worried about the loose cannon factor though.

  • forget this contempt thing ... that's retarded too ... he has clearly shown that he is incapable of fulfilling the duties required of the position. Just impeach him ...

  • Obama needs to do two things ...
    1. Explain that the church he has belonged to is about more than just the pastor. It is about his community and his neighbors and that while sometimes he has disagreed with his pastor even vehemently, he was more interested in being a part of the larger community that was the church.

    2. He needs to leave the church and explain that while it saddens him to leave, he cannot stand by a pastor who has mis-interpreted his message to mean that he is willing to say what it takes to be elected. He is not, and if that is what the pastor believes and is willing to tell others about both Obama and himself, then the pastor can no longer be a part of Obama's life.

    It's just that simple.

  • The congress should pass a requirement that states with voter ID laws must provide for a free photo identification card (they can still charge for drivers licenses) ... that way, all financial burden is removed from voting, and repugs get their voter ID laws ... They could also provide rules for ease of access to application for an ID card ...

  • Krugman's been in the camp for Hillary for a long time ... I'm not really clear why, but it's true. I love reading him when he's not talking about candidates, but as soon as he starts comparing them, his bias really does come out and he doesn't seem to give a fair shake. And the non-mention of the economically insane rate freeze proposal (which is probably just a bit of electioneering and not an actual policy belief .. since it would never pass) is the perfect example.

  • He clearly implied two things ...

    1. That Obama is not included in the "two people who loved this country" ... call it what you will, but it's pretty clear that's what he wanted people to get out of hist statement and ...

    2. That Obama is the reason that we are talking about "all this other stuff that always seems to intrude itself on our politics" ... meaning it is Obama's fault this "other stuff" that is so unimportant is coming up, even though he isn't really bringing most of it up ...

Read the quote again and tell me I'm wrong on this ...

"I think it would be a great thing if we had an election year where you had two people who loved this country and were devoted to the interest of this country. And people could actually ask themselves who is right on these issues, instead of all this other stuff that always seems to intrude itself on our politics."

  • Remind me why this is important again? This seems like a witch hunt. If congress is concerned about HGH or steroids or drugs in general, fine. But why major league baseball? I'm not saying that these guys are innocent or this isn't a problem, but aren't there more important things to worry about and isn't this really just a problem for MLB and the players association?
