DICK 'N SARAH: A TALE OF TWO VEEPS
The much anticipated Vice-Presidential Debate is now over & the spin has begun. Just like the last debate, Republicans say Palin won & Democrats say Biden won. It was actually a bit anti-climatic. He didn't gaffe, she didn't freeze, the "biased" moderator...more »

EATING BOOGERS & BRIDGETTE McCAIN
In the last 24 hours I have seen two different people ask Sen. McCain the same basic question. "Why do you approve the message of campaign commercials that are proven lies?" I've wondered how the engineer of the "STRAIGHT TALK EXPRESS"...more »

I think it would be very interesting to have a VP for one campaign that outranks the presidential candidate from the other campaign.
Gen. Clark was right...getting shot down makes you a hero, NOT A PRESIDENT.
I like Clark for VP because whether we think Obama is the best choice or not (I do), we are at war and sound military advice is essential. Gen. Clark knows the military from the inside. His advice & counsel would be invaluable and could help to save American lives.
His record is incredible. He is also very familiar with the politics of Europe which we all seemed to forget still has problems that need attention.

Salaam aleikum Spade:Keep in mind that I generally post on MyFox which is the website for local Fox News stations. There the anti-muslim rhetoric is truly offensive and that is the real reason for the specific title. No offense meant.
(Why do I generally post on a Fox blog? As a liberal leaning conservative, why should I preach to the choir? Take your message to the heathens & infidels because they won't necessarily come to you!)
I only posted this because I have seen so little media coverage of it anywhere.

Dear Sharon:
This was not meant to make use of a tragedy for any reason other than to try to get BOTH liberal & conservative to think about what they say.
Jim Adkinson is responsible for his actions. But actions can be "justified" in the simple minded by the talk of others (on both left & right). This was intended as a plea to all to think before they speak.
My heartfelt sympathies to you, your family and your community for your loss. Our prayers are with you.

I grew up in the Ozarks and there were NO black people in my neighborhood. There was a term that has disappeared (thankfully) since I was a small boy that describes the media's attitude toward Obama. I heard it from my great-grandfather (now dead 30 years). The term was "HOUSE N*&^*R". It was a throwback to the days of slavery, when there were slaves that worked the field and the best slaves got to work inside the main house of the plantation. They were often considered "uppity" because of thier supposed elevated status.
The main stream media seems to have decided to treat Sen. Obama as a "House Ni*&%r". If he says anything, it is viewed not so much as coming from a political candidate but as coming from a black man who happens to be running for president.
They would deny this. But as someone who grew up in an environment that considered these thoughts to be acceptable (even if they're not), I RECOGNIZE THE COMMENTS FOR WHAT THEY ARE.
If you disagree with me, please let me know why all the coverage on this story (unsubstantiated hearsay that was later disputed by other people who actually were in the room) was given and no one called John McCain out for running ads referring to PRESIDENT MCCAIN (God help us).

Your point is well taken.
And no, I did not know Mr. McKendry personally. My use of the term "Christian" was more as a generic reference than a specific. I see a great many people who claim to be Christian that I always wonder about. This was a man who if he claimed the title also lived it. If he did not, then it does nothing to lessen the magnitude of the act. And still we say, "God Speed" to his soul and whatever respite it finds!
