  • Too many perceived changes at once. Makes Obama look weak.

Posted at July 11, 2008 6:58 PM in response to Poll: National Race Tightens; Majority Says Obama Flip-Flopped On Key Issues

  • You're right. Supporters need to tone it down a little and Obama needs to ramp up his demeanor when he explains where he stands. Instead of playing "Joe Cool" maybe he needs a tougher tone on why these issues aren't flips or flops. They're just going to peg him every which way to Sunday so he might as well step it up a notch.

  • LisB, Have no fear (or guilt), Kathy "she who used to sit on the sidelines" is here!

You are volunteering two very different but important things to the campaign. Donating your hard earned money so Barack can continue the fight and by writing at TPM and making people think!

I left my comfort zone almost a month ago for the NC primary and came back all "fired up" as the campaign says.

I've blogged......ordered t-shirts and pins from the Obama store......posted comments.......blogged some more........and have been unable to make any other Obama campaign events since.

But I check in at the Obama website and stay informed. I just was sent an email for an event from Obama Supporters Want This War To End
with a poignant story of a Marine escorting another soldiers body home.

  • Duh.......caught the snark than lost it,
It's simple. If a Clinton compares Obama to Jesse Jackson in any way, it's race baiting. If Obama compares a Clinton to Jesse Jackson in any way, it's not. Confused? sorry :(

Posted at May 29, 2008 3:58 PM in response to Obama's Race Baiting Speaks for Itself, as Josh Marshall Would Say

  • Apples to oranges. It's not just the comparison in any way. It's the context of when they were compared. Bill Clinton was comparing Barack Obama's to Jesse Jackson's win with a predominately black electorate, if I'm not mistaken.

I don't think that was Bill Clinton the race-baiter either. That was Bill Clinton being stupid with a quick comeback smart-ass comment.

  • Proof of citizenship requirements for voter registration is like putting the cart before the horse.

Citizens Without Proof: A Survey of Americans' Possession of Documentary Proof of Citizenship and Photo Identification. Brennan Center for Justice at NYU School of Law

What are the recommendations to the survey taken by the Brennan Center? Should states pass laws making it easier for citizens to obtain the paperwork they need and may be missing to prove citizenship? If they have a social security number for example then periodically at places they use it such as filing taxes, filing for social security or starting a new job should they be questioned about and provided with the information on how they can get any missing paperwork such as birth certificates. etc.?
