My disgust with her has nothing to do with how or when she lied. I presume all pols lie. I am thoroughly disgusted that she threw her daughter under the bus (so to speak) just to stop the rumor about her downs syndrome child who will never know the difference. Anyway, she only made things worse. Now we know she has no insight to protect her child and did something for her benefit while throwing her
daughter into the wolves nest.Posted at September 2, 2008 10:32 PM in response to Of Palen, Teenagers, Decisions, Decency, and Politics

My biggest complaint about Palin is really quite personal. I have 6 daughters, one died several years ago. I can tell you that there is no way I could announce in public that my daughter was pregnant just to stop the rumor that she had my last child eo I made the announcement to stop that rumor. Palin could have sent her child to Switzerland, she could have said she was home for some good reason and never divulged the details. In the end, Palin chose to throw her child under the bus to stop the clatter. Her judgment is way, way off. This bizarre statement has started a whole new clack about her daughter. I would give up my life to protect my child and no offer of any job would ever prompt me to give up that family information. That child's problem is now known by millions in the US and overseas. That sort of mothering leaves me sad and convinced that nothing that mom works to achieve is enough to pay for this despicable behavior.

Sadly, the Palin parents threw over their pregnant daughter just to change the subject everyone was passing around, ie the rumor that the daughter was the actual mother of the Trig. this rumor was ballooning so to salvage that, the Veep candidate told the entire world her daughter was pregnant. For me, they could kick me off of any ticket rather than for me to expose to the whole world that my daughter was pregnant out of wedlock. That fact was hers to tell. How selfish of these parents.

Beauty contest participants are the least of John McCain's problems. I think the first time John McCain calls Mrs. Palin a C***, she will kick him in the appropriate place. How a woman so involved with a very conservative church could stand to campaign with smut mouthed McCain is interesting. What a combo. McCain always bragging about his wonderful life story (remember Keating 5, his bad language noted 22 times and his complete lack of caring concern for his first wife) and Palin with her far right Church experience. Gonna be an interesting run up to the election. I trust Ms. Palin has he slapping hand handy.

Yes, that is the stragest thing about that silly exchange. The newsie threw McCain a soft ball and in McCain's answer, he had to show his snide side. So lets see, what profoubnd statement does McCain make? Duh? He blows the soft ball question and shows how churlish and childish he can be, Imagine this guy meeting any head of state, Nah, on second thought, imagining that would make anyone TERRIBLY afraid. It is akin to a bad nightmare.

Frankly, if the only prep for the Presidency is his POW time, let's see how that qualifies McCain. "I'm gonna remind the guards that I'm the son of an Admiral and my daddy is gonna get you, ummm You C***', OR :"You better be nicer to me, I am an Admiral's son", or "Better be careful, or I will sign you up as a contestant in the topless, bottomless contest and then see how you like that", or "you better respect me cause I graduated 5th from the bottom of my class from the Naval Acadamy and besides, my daddy and my granddaddy are both Admirals". If one is short on character, no matter POW status, being a Senator means nothing. You simply are a POW or a Senator with no character.

Amazing that Petraeus was ever acceptable to Bush and now McCain when he refuses to play footsie with their insane "let America take over the world" point of view. Petraeus has enough sense not to put out a stupid banner "Mission Accomplished" followed by continued deaths and maiming of our military in Iraq. Only GW would stoop to such stupidity. I say, make Petreaus the new Sec. of Defense. He surely cut the rug out from under the McCain/Bush twins point of view.
