  • Reed,
where to begin? for starters, the charge that McCain fathered a black child was just plain false. however, the comments by Jeremiah Wright (a guy Barack calls uncle) were not throwaways from one Sunday when the old guy was hitting the sauce. Accusing whites of being the cause of HIV is a little more than "harshly speaking". Harshly speaking? How much koolaid you been drinking dude?

And dismissing Ayers actions of 40 years ago as no big deal. Hmm? Should we tell Elie Weisel to STFU because the holocaust happened 63 years ago?

You need to work on your arguments. Pretty weak stuff.

  • Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Read Josh's frontpage:

After being asked whether Canadian officials asked for — or received — any briefings from a Clinton campaign representative outlining her plans on NAFTA, a spokeswoman for the prime minister offered a response Friday.

"The answer is no, they did not," said Harper spokeswoman Sandra Buckler.

That response will come as a relief to the Clinton campaign, which has angrily denied that it has engaged in the kind of double-talking hypocrisy of which it accuses Mr. Obama.

  • I have no problem with them speaking candidly. The problem is that Obama is not speaking candidly. I would respect him if he admitted these issues were complex and not easily solved. But he doesn't. He simply promises "HOPE".

  • Fascinating. Instead of dealing with the substance of the post you raise an extraneous issue. Answer the Obama question first. Equating a missed vote with a failure to hold hearings on something your candidate claims is important is not even in the same ball park.

  • So words don't matter? Hmm. That's not what Obama says. But please explain how you can be in the "midst of a U.S. Senate campaign" when you have not announced for said campaign or filed papers to run. That ain't semantics.

I don't make a dime off of TPM. I like Josh and the gang. I respect Josh's opinions. We occasionally have differences. Are you looking for some sort of pure, ideologically tested site? At least Josh tolerates differences of opinion. And if you find my comments and writing asinine, don't read it. • I first came across this while working on a US military base last year. One of my colleagues flagged it to me because he believed it validated some of the things he thought we should be doing in Iraq. I was horrified and pointed out to him that this was base propaganda.

Unfortunately, this is viewed by many is some of our most highly skilled, highly classified units as an "accurate" summary of the threat.
