I'm sooooo glad Abrams is off . . . I found his analysis weak and his approach kind of mean. Never mind that he really is hard to look at - the snaggletooth makes him look like a lawyer shark out to get someone . . . . it was my worst 9pm news show . . . .

It works a little, but I think what would work better, and is perhaps better substantiated by clear record, is portraying McCain as someone who will do anything to get elected - switch any position, keep any company, try any tactic . . . . etc.

I think it will work to McCain's advantage. He'll take some of the spotlight from Obama and his sure to be amazing speech, and even if he loses a little of the traditional VP pick bump, he's heading into his own Convention, so he's only on the upswing. That sucks.

Whatever, if it were a bunch of black women saying he's hot that would be called racist too. I don't really see how it's so racist honestly - maybe I'm just part of that post racial constituency. I don't really see race in this ad. If you do, maybe you have a problem too. Fact is, young women from all backgrounds think he's hot - the problem to me isn't picking clips of white women saying it (there are probably a lot more clips of white women saying it as there are a lot more white women in this country than black, just a fact).
The problem is cheapening his appeal by making it seem purely sexual and whim. Painting peoples' attraction to him as empty, silly, and based on looks. Which is much more of an insult to us than it is to Obama. The truth is a lot of people are deeply attracted to Obama, but it is because he speaks to a crucial part of our being, regardless of whether we think he's hot or not. He's someone who many of us do feel can represent us, speak our language, and we like his plan for the future, and it's insulting of John McCain to imply we're driven by such frivolty.
Take that, sucka.

While I agree with a lot of what you say here, I don't think it's fair, wise, or helps your cause, to discriminate so vehemently and wholesale against the south and midwest. Have you spent much time in these places? Remember, these places are all a lot more purple than red, and if you spent some time with these people you might learn that they are not all raging idiots and you actually share a lot in common with them (however not a common understanding of history and thus interpretation of current events). They're great people. It doesn't help to demonize the Right (the people, leadership is absolutely fair game) or the Bible Belt. Pick your battles wisely, with precision, and with an understanding that the people you are fighting against have deep beliefs and emotions attached to what they are doing, much the way you do.
