McCain's I agree we should reennact the draft story died pretty quickly----------but this one is better.

No. No. No. No. I am a Vietnam vet. quit insulting me--------if Mccain told the story in his 2000 campaign as though the guard drew the cross for another prisoner, not mcCain, then changed it in 2008 to the more dramatic narrative that it happened to himself---same principle as changing green bay to pittsburgh----he is embellishing his sacred service to get more votes.
It remains repugnant.

Biden will change the polls. When he starts calling McCain on his idiocy, the press will have no choice but to report it. He can go aggressively in a way that Obama cannot, and it will cause McCain to be responding to the dem vp nominee on an almost daily basis---his free ride will b over.

2 vietnam vets, (I am one, also,) arguing (discussing) about their choices---the thing about McCain changing the Green Bay story to the Pittsburgh steelers was one easily understood---it got reinforcement from the cross in the dirt story---mainly because McCain talked about another soldier having the experience in 2000---he has changed it to himself for 2008. Oil and taxes, and Iraq are hard to sort out-----for veterans, lying about your military experience for votes is easily understood, and extraordinarily offensive.

couple of interesting polls:
rasmussen, who continues to pose questions in ways to favor republicans---(including a blatantly racist poll 3 weeks ago, based on triangulating mcCain ads)---24% of Democrats say it’s at least Somewhat Likely that Clinton herself will end up as the Democratic standard bearer. That figure includes 11% who say it’s Very Likely Clinton will be the nominee.
Gallup internals of the 44-44 tie, shows mcCain ahead 50-40 in the south, but he is down 50-40 in the west, 50-38 in the west, and 51-38 in the east.
One can only hope that mexico does not invade and try to take over the south---we might have to ask Georgia to send in troops to help defend us. Wait---that would not work--they would support the invasion on behalf of McCain.....

the 100 billion figure is low---and that is why the 20 percent figure is, too.
Go back to math class.

The math does not add up. the 100 billion figure sounds ridiculously low. These people are not working for minimum wage. Somebody---anybody---tell me I am wrong.

Anybody know why Ben Smith is scared shirtless to post much of anything about the georgia-russia thing? It is Clinton campaign headquarters over there.

seems like the press is just picking on the mccain family.
notice that in hershey's recipe, there is no talk of a medium sized bowl.
Probably the most glaring difference is that Hersheys would drop them in heaping teaspoons, while Cindy prudently drops them in tablespoons----2 inches apart. There are only so many ways to report the facts of how to combine butter, flour, sugar and butterscotch and get cookies from them.
Here are the two recipes for oatmeal-butterscotch cookies:
"Cindy McCain’s Oatmeal-Butterscotch Cookies" (as it appears on the Family Circle Web site)
Ingredients:
¾ cup (1-1/2 sticks) unsalted butter or margarine, softened
¾ cup granulated sugar
¾ cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon salt
3 cups rolled oats
1-2/3 cups butterscotch chips
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 375 degree F.
2. In a large bowl beat the butter or margarine, granulated sugar and brown sugar together. Add the eggs and vanilla, beating well.
3. In a medium-size bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt. Gradually add flour mixture to butter mixture; stir until blended. Stir in oats and butterscotch chips. Drop by tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets.
4. Bake at 375 degree F for 10 minutes, until the edges begin to brown. Transfer to a wire rack to cool.

Kerrey would make a logical choice for vp---for mccain. Only one who would object would be Liebermann---who would ask---why him and not me?
