McCain's Strategy and Obama's Brand
Two thoughts: 1) Might McCain have been planning for a while to blow every international incident into a conflagration b/c his best chance of winning is to encourage a world where Americans will feel right voting for a crusty old...more »

Ads More About Repub Fears than Obama Flaws
Anyone else starting to think that the recent anti-Obama ads are more about republican's fears than any actual Obama liabilities? I.e. that they are afraid he is a messiah of sorts, that he is becoming an uncontainable celebrity, of the...more »

HUGE BLUNDER!!!: McCain accidentally leaks campaign strategy on website!
Rick Davis has a great little powerpoint thingy up on the McCain sight showing why they're going to win, it's full of wonderfully deceptive graphics, but fortunately they included a pause button so you can freeze them and guffaw.Got 13...more »

ATTENTION GRABBING CAPS: Two questions for general discussion
1) How the hell did the DNC get screwed into having their convention first again? Shouldn't it be our turn to go last and benefit from the post-convo bounce?2) Could a congress that gave a damn make sure that this...more »

Electability, by any other name
I think HRC's claims of electability (which is not a word according to the spell check...) tacitly assume a fact that is not in evidence, viz. that John McCain strode to the convention on a red carpet with flower girls...more »

Zogby now predicting superdel movement as well:
So this happened.Relevant quote:Where do we go from here? My understanding is that probably today, but certainly within 48 hours, about 30 super-delegates will endorse Mr Obama. That should give him further momentum.Josh wouldn't hesitate to point out that JZ...more »

NOT BREAKING: The metric the Clinton camp will adhere to.
With his candidate hopelessly behind in delegates and unlikely to catch up in the popular vote, Clinton campaign chair Terry "Professor Harold Hill" McAuliffe tonight defined the one metric by which the Superdelegates should decide the nomination:"Clearly, foremost in superdelegate...more »

No harm in asking the question, but I think this is a terrible idea. Wex brings nothing in terms of winning the election and opens the ticket up to charges of liberalism out of step with the all-important mainstream.
He would make a good HUD or EPA head.

And let's not pretend, if we're in the reality based community, that Obama's strategy doesn't include hoping McC continues to look old and continues to be inept at reaching any audience whatsoever, paving the way for a graceful walk to the inaugural.

Maybe I should have said "Pray for a game changer" to protect more sensitive souls. Sorry if that was out o' bounds to anyone.

Well that was obviously a joke I thought.
And I agree that overconfidence would be the worst possible stance for the Obama people (of which I am not one, yet.) I for one am banking on Barack and the Daves (Axe and Plouffe,) to continue to have game, because they have rpven that they are GOOD LISTENERS.
The point of my headline was that this is NOT their strategy, this is what they're telling us is the strategy. The real strategy is smear Obama and Michelle, pray for a well timed terrorist attack or Iranian war, and failing those two, to try to go down fighting with dignity intact by DC standards. And play the race card but only under the table.
The power point was a sales pitch for a Ford Pinto, it was slimy, but the real joke of it is how ham fisted it was, I don't think a McCain inclined independent would buy much of it.

Good answers all. I was blissfully unaware of the convention schedule protocol.
Too bad though that a tie goes to the runner and the runner is always the GOP.

I watched the movie Election last week and was stunned that I haven't seen some youtube nerd make a quickie version of it with BO and HC imposed on the candidates.
I guess it would be racist when Barack thanked God for "what I'm told is a very large penis."
But otherwise hilarious.

I'm saying Obama beat a serious competitor where McCain beat chumps. I think you mistake me if you see any slight to Hillary there. Heir apaprent was how we all treated her until Iowa.

I was using the term primary to mean contest, I guess and like I said it's not the strictest accounting, just a point.

So I see we've reached the phase of the campaign where we: Punctuate. After. Every. Word. Period.
This is the Third. Time. I've. Seen it in 36 hours.
C'mon, we're the thinkers, right? We shouldn't be communicating on a fourth grade level in a sixth grade world.
(This is all w/ no offense intended to the poster or anyone else. I've. Done. It. Several. Times. Myself.)
Peace.
