  • The sky is bright red. The grass is always purple. Obama is an ultra-rich celebrity sticking it to the working person. McCain is an ordinary guy, salt of the earth, great principles. Gas is cheaper now than ever before due to the fabulous Bush administration. The war in Iraq has been a success from start to uhhh, to now.
Up is down. Right is Wrong.

Maybe I can have a career writing for McCain?

  • "McCain versus McCain" strikes me as just that sort of repeatable branding being looked for upstream here in the comments.

It's the perfect way to hit him on a bunch of issues that even McCain doesn't seem to know where he currently stands and it leads to the other point...more of the same Bush administration.

  • This is an encouraging little tidbit about donors to Obama: http://www.miamiherald.com/campaign08/story/553507.html

We can replace "I'm not going to be a democrat anymore if my candidate doesn't win" dems with these people.

  • Whatever happened to the RULES RULE position of Obama supporters?

Well, if they were really following the rules everyone agreed to, then this little meeting wouldn't have occurred and there would have been no delegates for either of them.

I know we all have to come together and all that, but honestly, if the situation were the exact opposite (Obama trying to seat these delegates if only his name had been on the ballot and against the predecided rules) -- do you think any of this would have happened? The rules changed? Compromises made? Imagine what this same poster would have been saying in the reverse situation.

    Exactly.

  • They are not racist... as far as we know.

I mean, they say they aren't...

  • I'm not sure what you think it is that he should be doing, I guess. A lot of any silence OR any noise is the choice of the media. Short of his negatively attacking or making a blunder, they're not interested right now, it's far easier to report all the sound and fury out of the Clintons.

So, I think my question is, what exactly is it that he should be doing that he isn't doing, that will get him the MSM attention (in a good way)?

  • Someone up there said this --And really, truly, do you think Clinton will actually carry out *any* promise she makes if it becomes politically toxic? --I copied it and forgot where it was!

After her first term, she might actually do this, carry out *a* promise. The first term though, will just be one long re-election campaign.

  • @@ I can't believe this is getting reported as a "gaffe."

My 17 yo would be a better president than Bush. My 14 yo would too. I'm not 100% sure, but with the right advisors, my almost 6 yo could be ready in a couple of years.

  • Conflating money from individuals with money from lobbyists is just silly.

Every time my husband donates, it gets toted up in that law firm column. I can promise you that there are more republicans than dems at his law firm and since we're in PA, likely more Clinton thn Obama supporters. His support of Obama has nothing to do with his law firm.

It does have something to do with his love of the constitution though.

I'm working my way up through the donation numbers. Every now and again I go and check my total, but most of my donations are given spur of the moment whenever I see something I really like in the campaign or there's a particularly egregious claim coming from the other candidate. Then I click a few keys and donate again. But, I truly don't count being currently back in school and unemployed.

  • I'm here in PA, but I clearly don't watch anywhere near enough television. I like the ad, it's simple, it's easy to get the point. It makes my job easier when I'm wearing my Obama button and someone asks me why I'm voting for him.

Just before Obama says "imagine that" you can hear that he's repeating it, that someone in the audience said it first and he's giving it back to the whole group. *That's* my favorite part and also the part that I think will resonate on further hearings (for those people that do watch lots of TV and see these things a zillion times). To me it says that he's listening to his audience, even when he's talking.

Now, there's an ad that I *have* seen late at night on the weekends -- made me sit up and put my glasses back on to see if it was official or not. Seems to be, but I can't find it anywhere. Has music and not an annoying voice-over. I just wish that I could see it once when I was paying attention.
