You can't seriously be having such a difficult time understanding this, can you?

    1. Obama is the presumptive nominee of the Democratic Party. Clinton is not.

    2. Hillary should use her own money to retire her primary debt. Obama has no obligation to assist her in doing so.

    3. The reasons for this are many, but let's focus on the more obvious ones:

    a. The Clintons are now worth an estimated $100,000,000.00. Most of that money has been made by Bill from speaking engagements where he has traded his status as former President for checks.

    b. Most of Hillary's campaign debt is owed to Hillary Clinton and Mark Penn, both of whom are in no need of money.

    c. Hillary ran up most of that campaign debt disparaging, insulting and questioning Obama's competence. The Republicans are currently using some of Hillary's greatest hits in their political ads against Obama.

    4. Obama, as the actual candidate, will, like most other candidates in history, accept outside donations to fund his campaign. I'm really not sure why this was even brought up by you...

    5. If Hillary doesn't feel the need to "ask" her "supporters" to donate to Obama, then she shouldn't. The fact is that she has no choice but to fall in line right now and at least make a show of being a good sport and supporting Obama.

Who, in your mind, should pay for the outrageous debt that Hillary racked up? Why is that anyone's responsibility but her own? At what point did Hillary's financial incompetence become Obama's problem?

Finally, does the use of the word "ya'll" substitute as a kind of bland, over-commercialized ghetto pass to let everyone know that, in spite of your support for Clinton, you're still down?

    Let it go. Seriously.

The hypocrisy and arrogance in the bulk of these comments is priceless. Let me make sure I understand this correctly: It's not okay for Obama to ask his supporters to help retire a portion of Clinton's debt, but it is okay for Clinton to ask her supporters to fund Obama's coffers? Additionally: Hillary should use her own pocketbook to retire her primary debt, but Obama should use the general public's wallet to support his campaign efforts?

Ya'll are the definition of Clinton Derangement Syndrome. Your candidate should be so proud.

  • DIJAMO:

    seriously. please purchase a life.

or go join the troglodytes down at hillaryis44.

everyone here has indulged your bullshit for several months now, and you have yet to add to the quality of dialogue on any of these posts. you're a parrot that has learned one phrase and simply repeats it time and time again.

i have yet to see proof that you know about, care about or might possibly be interested in any other topic. is there anything else that moves you enough to write about it? a bit of diversity of subjects might go a long way towards improving your profile on this site.

perhaps you can write about how the sexism that hillary faced is negatively affecting our troops' morale. or about how the fall of the housing bubble was a cosmic sign of the impending sexism that was to be hurled at hillary.

no. those won't work either. well, touche, our one-trick pony. keep fighting.

  • okay. don't want to be a wet blanket here during the faux-love fest (and sorry if others have said this, but there's far too many comments to read through all of them), but is anyone else disturbed (though not surprised) by the msm's theory that tim russert's passing is the only important news story of the day?

more important than what happened in iraq...
    more important than the election...
more important than disquiet in pakistan...

gimme a break. the msm is so narcissistic as to believe that the loss of a journalist is somehow world news. tim russert was, as far as msm journalists go, not too bad. but can we not get too carried away? he was a corporate reporter, a guy who never took a stand on anything important, who never deviated from the set boundaries of the media.

again, it's a sad event. nearly as sad as the thousands of other unexpected deaths that occurred today. many of those deaths involved parents who didn't earn seven figures annually and who also left behind dependent families.

    c'mon. this is ridiculous.

  • No, no, no.

Bernanke doesn't really want a reasoned and measured analysis of the ruling. His purpose was to bring up the case, lure people in by asking ridiculous questions, and then pounce on unsuspecting posters by accusing them of not knowing what they're talking about.

Unfortunately, this strategy no longer works when you're faced with people who know what they're talking about.

Please. Doesn't Fredrick deserve a little more compassion?

  • I love Dijamo's principled refusal to stand up for Michelle Obama as a way of teaching a lesson to other Democrats.

I remember my grandfather telling me stories of Dijamo's great-great-grandfather, Cornelius Westhauer Mo. It seems that Mr. Mo was an outspoken abolitionist, a man who would travel all over the country and make great, impassioned speeches about the evils of slavery. After a couple of months, however, Mo became disillusioned that people who he saw as his intellectual and moral peers didn't seem as interested in the dismantling of the system of slavery as he was. Furious, he threw down his papers, tore off his tie, and stomped off towards his home, arms folded tightly across his chest and, some say, steam emanating from his ears. During his long walk home, Mr. Mo vowed that he would never fight slavery again, as long as he lived.

"I'll show those faux-freedom fighters. I hope that every slave in the South gets whipped extra hard today. That oughta make those no-good, do-nothing bleeding hearts sorry for their inaction."

Good to see that some things never change.

  • "self-righteous demands for an immediate concession would be counterproductive?"

what is self-righteous about demanding that the winning candidate be appropriately acknowledged on the day that he sewed up the nomination? you say that there is no rush, and i would agree. she has had months to deal with this reality, to come to terms with her political mortality. this wasn't a surprise. nobody (with a grip on reality)thought that she was going to pull out a surprise victory on tuesday evening.

i find it incredibly disingenuous the way that obama supporters are bending over backward to accomodate this woman's burdensome ego. this final period of her insincere simle, the backhanded attempts at extortion with her assumed legions of zombie followers, is so over-the-top as to remind one of the cult of personality that has been built around her. now we get to read posts like this from other disillusioned and ill-informed clinton supporters who slyly (they think) make ridiculous claims about obama and his supporters (they're so mean to us... everyone picks on hillary) and see how far they can push our patience and the limits of reality.

if get used to it is not the best way to respond to clinton diehards like dijamoron, then try this: life sucks.

    get used to it.

  • we're still indulging hillary and billa's fragile egos. give them time? it's an important decision and she sholdn't be rushed? she's had several months to let this sink in. this isn't a goddamn surprise to aynone. and now she requests time?

she is classless. any chance she might have had at the vp slot was killed last night. (thank god.)

let's stop the madness. she's out of her mind. no class whatsoever. i couldn't believe (okay, i totally beleived it) that she could do that to obama on such a night.

i hope she and bill crawl back under the rock they came from.
