Mr. Goldberg,
Your shock about the abuses at Abu Ghraib comes as a great relief after noting your glib observation that evil didn't "find its way to power" at Ketziot (a tortured turn of phrase, to be sure-are you hiding something from us?) offered with the small caveat:"certainly not in the comprehensive manner it did in Military Intelligence wing at Abu Ghraib."The following was also revealing, though perhaps not in a way it was intended to be:
"There was also a fair amount of violence in the prison, in part because this was the Middle East and in part because we were understaffed."
Constructive ambiguity fools us every time...
Best,
IDF

Under David Remnick the New Yorker has become neo-con lite.
Why bother with it anymore?

The headline of the Independent article Rosenberg links to is as follows:
Our reign of terror, by the Israeli army
In shocking testimonies that reveal abductions, beatings and torture, Israeli soldiers confess the horror they have visited on Hebron
We have had attempts to change the topic.
Then a claim that the accusations are fabrications.
But no attempt made to address the substance of the article.

BornAgainDarwinian, TNathan, Bruno2: instead of changing the topic why not address the Independent article that Rosenberg writes about.
Is it inaccurate? If so, how? If not, do you approve of the type actions described in it.
The hasbara tactics are tiresome.
