Gore might not be optimal, but lots worse picks have been floated and I do think he would take it if asked. It's good to have discussions about the pros and cons of various possibilities - it gives us an idea of the kinds of the factors Obama is weighing. Some of the earlier discussions were less than productive in positing that Obama must pick x or y individual or must pick someone from x or y state, or must pick e.g. a military person or an economic expert, as if to box him in or imply that the choice isn't his to make. He has many options and I'm confident that he will pick the right person for VP, whoever it might be.

Re: "on the record": What has she said about her plans for the convention and November? Was there a link in the post that didn't come through?

With his Nobel Prize and Academy Award, Gore would bring enough prestige to the office that I don't think it would diminish him at all.

I'm in agreement, both that Gore would help the ticket and that he would take it if asked. He said something (sorry I can't find a link) a few months ago indicating that he would be somewhat open to it IF he were given an effective platform to accomplish his goals in terms of energy policy and preparedness for climate change.

A solution to the dilemma of how to respond to the insult-spewing-folks-who-claim-to-be-Clinton- supporters-but-we-don't-really-know who-they-are: As Ben Hocking suggested elsewhere, TPM could give each of us the power to exclude from view a list of posters of our choosing. Then we wouldn't be tempted to respond. A small list of posters generate the vast majority of vitriolic blather that derails threads and inflames tempers.

the ability for us to each choose who to "ignore". This would mean that we could choose to never see another post from ....
To reiterate how very much I like this suggestion from Ben: If TPM would just give us this one feature, I would never complain about the lack of any TPM feature ever again.

And what about superdelegates in FL and MI? Would they all be seated at half a vote as well? I've heard that Clinton has lobbied them heavily and may get most of them?

Did the rumored massive pro-Clinton demonstration not materialize? The ABC web site didn't mention demonstrators; CNN reported that "dozens" were demonstrating.
