Obama or Clinton? Personal outrage and hurt feelings aside, we need a democrat elected President. Our country is on the brink: Human rights/privacy abuses, election fraud, political corruption, debt, corporate welfare queens/kings... ENOUGH!
We, as proggressive mindeded folks, have a job to do. We have 2 candidates with differing personal attributes but similar stances on policy issues. I will vote for the democratic nominee for president. Period.
If more motivation is needed, there could be 4 potential openings on the SUPREME COURT. DO we want another Alito, Thomas, Roberts, or Scalia seated?
Our decisions are important. To throw this election away because of personal pique or even vein pounding outrage may seem irresistable, but to my mind doing so is a self indulgent folly.

Giving time to the "screw 'em" comment and the Weather Underground pardons may be crap, but now that they're out there...the Republicans have two new golden turds to smear Hillary with from now until general election day.
Unlike Obama, she's not teflon coated.

First year: Transparency in the workings of the executive branch increases the confidence and trust of the electorate putting pressure on the legislative branch to pass ethics reform and transparency in government bills.
I think proggressive issues will move forward more quickly in daylight.
After the first year of the next presidency, Iraq will continue to be a heartache no matter who wins the general election.

You've touched on something I've been thinking about...lightening fast news cycles contribute to short attention spans and potential viewer boredom when a non-story keeps getting recycled. Polls indicating a majority of folks don't believe Obama shares Rev. Wrights views mean that the MSM better give it up or amp it up. Maybe they'll luck out and a teenage parishoner will be found included in a Girls Gone Wild vid.

I think your assessment is spot on.
He's cooly objective, intelligent and pragmatic.
He's an idealist.
I haven't seen him pander.
He will accept political risk to speak honestly.I don't see these qualities stand out to such a degree in the other candidates.

I'm appalled that her behavior may be rewarded with the democratic nomination. As a parent, I would never allow these tactics to prevail in my household. But for now, I'll be glued to this screen to see how this dysfunctional psychodrama plays out. The Superdelegates will be playing the role of the parents in this one. Let's hope wisdom prevails.
When this contest began I preferred Obama's temperament and committment to ethics reform, but would have been happy to vote for any of the democratic nominees in the general. Now that I've seen a kitchen sink whizzing by my window and the scorched lawn outside, I feel nothing but derision for the kind of monstrous machine politics Hillary & Co. represent. I may be able to force myself to vote for her...for the potential supreme court nominations if nothing else, but it will be a battle of reason vs will.
