Interesting "co-incidence", if true, that Rove reportedly was seeking infidelity dirt on Seigleman, since that same trick was used on Spitzer.
And the guy who dropped the dime on Spitzer is/was a long time Republican dirty tricks player..Roger J. Stone.

Over at democraticunderground.com someone who sounded knowledgeable was discussing the fact that spitzer was heading up a move to change the balance of power from Repub. to Dem. majority in the NT Legislature, the plans were coming very close to fruition.
sorry I cannot find the thread, it was last 2-3 days, sounded convincing.
It is interesting that the FBI and the DOJ guys were so prompt in working the case.

Seems to be a step of logical progression.

Seigleman is being increasingly viewed as a political prisoner by folks down here.
When Gov. Riley ran in 2002 against Siegleman he won by the narrowest margin in Alabama history because of disputed voting results.
Wiki reports Riley linked to Jack Abramoff and that
he has Vice-Presidential ambitions in 2008.
He does seem to be pretty well connected to the DC gang...hmmmm.
