Don't get your hopes up. The Democrats have been just as much a cover-up as Republicans. Obama, himself, voted to coverup the illegal spying investigation by granting retro-active immunity to the telecom industry.

(Both political partys stated that the telecom industries "might not" cooperate in the future if needed, but anyone with sense knows that if they didn't they would be nationalizeds in a heart beat).

Pelosi has even blocked any talk of the impeachment of either Bush or Cheney.

Naw. As soon as the new president is installed, the Democrats will stall all investigations ("In the national interests we don't have time for this, we've got too many other things that need to be done.") and Congress will be back to "business as usual."

Somebody else said it best. Gangesters used to be called the mafia, now they're called Congress. And what the American people do during national elections is vote to see who will be the Don for the next four years.

If that was not the case, we'd have seen a stop to this Bush mess during his first term.

  • As long as Mukasey is head of the DOJ, these lawbreakers are safe.

  • At one point on NPR, didn't one spokesperson for the FBI say that there was enough "circumstancial" evidence to convict Ivins?

Funny there's not enough "circumstancial evidence" to convict George W. Bush and a host of others for war crimes against Iraq and against this country.

You can bet we're not going to hear from the FBI on that. Nor the DOJ, either.

I guess it all depends on your definition of "crime" and who's doing the investigating.

  • The FBI, CIA, DOJ, the Pentagon, Homeland Security and how many more federal agencies have done this kind of thing?

The first four, at least, have a history that goes way, way, way back; long before GWB became president. Shades of John Poindexter!, all GWB did was reve the abuse up!

So when the Democrats take over next January, we are supposed to believe that it will stop?

Only a fool will believe that.

  • "The Justice Department, on behalf of Harriet Miers and Joshua Bolten...."

Is this not just more of the same politicizing by the Department of Justice and Mukasey?

Is this not the same Department of Justice that the American people are supposed to trust to imparitally investigate criminial wrong doing and to prosecute criminal wrong doers - including a sitting president and members of his staff who are, supposedly, not above the law?

  • Given its history of misconduct and politicizing for the past seven plus years, why should Americans trust the FBI?

And let's not stop the buck with the FBI, but let's include as well, the CIA, the DOJ, the Pentagon and that most of all corrupt body, the U.S. Congress that has not only allowed the misconduct of these organizations, but willingly participated with them to mislead the American public into an illegal war, financial mismanagement and acts againist the Constitution.

  • While a few of the House democrats are willing to pursue this to its end, the democratic leadership is not. At the moment these criminal behaviors are still election issues.

After the elections are over, watch for the democratic leadership, including Obama, to shoot this down.
