Let's not forget the Barr factor. Northern Florida is quite conservative and culturally much like southern Georgia. I've seen Barr with as high as 5% in GA, if he pulls even half that in FLA he could push the state towards the Dems. Of course being FLA, any outcome is possible.

I don't think it will get to the convention. Pelosi and Reid will "encourage" other superdelegates to switch to Obama so that the FL and MI delegates won't matter at all. If they don't they will be risking not getting their earmarks for their territories. Such is the way of politics.

Acutally, they do have a way to add up all the grapes, bananas, and plums, and call the result apricots. The result are called delegates, and you are correct, Obama is leading there.

You are correct. Back in the day fire deparments were run as businesses. If your neighbors house was on fire and he didn't have the same fire department contract company as you did, you were out of luck until your house caught on fire.
Finally the government decided that it was in the publics best interest to make it a function of the government and definately is more efficient now then it was back then.
