  • B*tch at me all you want because I did support Hillary as the better candidate, but this "staging" is getting over the top. Too bad the man himself lately can't stand up for what he says he has previously. Outdoor arena like JFK...speech on the 45th anniv. of MLK... sorry but this is nothing more than symbolism overboard. And I don't care what anybody says, unless it was pre-assured and arranged that he was going to be the chosen nominee, why is his acceptance speech just happening to fall on such a special day? This was mentionned ages ago by his supporters that if he was the nominee when he would give his speech and how significant it would turn out to be. Sorry, but this whole campaign just reeks of a concerted effort to use symbolism and hyperbole and nothing but rhetoric. I still am waiting to find out who from the old guard in the Senate besides Kennedy and who hated Clinton enough to convince him to run when he said he himself wasn't qualified for the job.
And don't worry he is still better than McCain when it comes to election day and I will hold my nose but I don't have to like Obama for all his changes in pandering to get votes, especially this mushiness on withdrawing from Iraq.

  • I still can't see why MoveOn endorsed him after he refused to stand up for them in the Senate censure motion by saying it wasn't worthy of him even voting on it. However, there goes Clarke now as well as MoveOn. Now who gets the tire treads from the bus next now that Obama no longer needs them to get the nomination?

  • How interesting to read the lengths that some will go to try and make excuses for Obama's stance. How many legal experts does it take talking all over the TV who say this is a disaster will it take to allow you to say that Obama is wrong on this one? What about Dodd and Feingold? Do they know nothing all of a sudden? I seem to remember they are not running for President and need to appeal to republicans and all those who praised them before are now willing to side with the chosen one and ignore them. Too bad Obama's real character and his now seeming willingness to go against the bloggers and netroots who were the ones who got him where he is today, are no longer as necessary now. How does it feel to know many of you were used just like any politician will use those he needs until you are no longer beneficial and then he is off to find the new crowd to appease.

  • What's more important than defending the Constitution?

  • I have been watching the TV tonight and saw Jonathan Turley discussing this and John Dean as well. Both have said this is (not just immunity) disastrous for civil liberties and the Constitution and expands the Bush White House to do more illegal spying than ever.
Obama is also not getting some good press either on CNN for his statement about saying the Republicans will try and paint him as scary, young and inexperienced and "did you notice he's black"? It doesn't seem to sit well with pundits who wonder why he is now bringing up race and whether anything said against him will be branded as racist. The other was whether it was presumptuous to unveil his own presidential looking seal as id taking the outcome as a foregone conclusion ..... NOT a good day for the wonder boy.

  • So, how do Obama followers spin this one? Just think of all those comments that everyone wrote and made about Hoyer and substitute Obama's name..............

  • How does it sound now that Obama is putting up NO fuss over this?

Posted at June 20, 2008 4:42 PM in response to TELECOM IMMUNITY? DEMOCRATS, LEAD, OR GET OUT OF THE WAY.

  • Maybe the pedestal that everyone puts him on just shortened, hopefully a whole lot! He is nothing more than a politician like everyone else. So much for standing up for the "little guy" and the American citizen. Now we will see if all those who cussed and swore at Hoyer will put forth a different tone when discussing this since it is Obama?

  • I have said this before long ago that it doesn't even matter who the President is, but the important thing is who and how many are in the House and Senate to get anything done.

  • More empty threats as usual. They love to say how upset or angry they are, threaten contempt and then turn to the Bush Cheney justice who says take a hike and then all is dropped and we jump on the next thing they find contemptable.

Only when they finally do something will this group not turn out to be a joke along with everything else.

Words mean nothing especially after hearing they will now surrender the accountability of the telecom companies. Do that and say that if the telecom giants are not guilty then how can they say Bush is guilty of a crime??? They will unintentionally or intentionally legitimize the whole process and make it worse in doing so.
