  • Great posting. John McCain really should be staggeringly ashamed of himself for attacking Obama with these charges that he wants to lose a war for political reasons. McCain has a huge ego and a clear sense of entitlement to the Presidency. He just hates the fact that Obama, this whelp and newbie to the political stage, has the temerity, the 'audacity', to get in McCain's way on his way to his presumed Prez title. McCain has nothing left but negativity and attacks. 'Eff' new ideas, and 'eff' anyone else who gets in McCain's way. He will stop at nothing, clearly, to get to the WH. He is a small shadow of the 'man' that we saw in 2000. How sad, pathetic, and undeserving to what he's accomplished in his life.

  • and lets not forget the enabling George Stephanopoulous uttering today that 'Obama is coming around to McCains position on more troops in Afghanistan' on ABC news with Charles Gibson. yes he in fact did say something to that effect. McCain has not called for that sort of thing until recently while Obama has for about a year called for that very thing. the MSM is unbelievable. and Steph worked for Bill Clinton. what a hack.

  • clearly Kentuckians are a sensible lot, especially when they elect excellent leaders like Gov Beshear and Rep Yarmuth, and I look forward to more sensibility when they, hopefully, 'fire' Mitch McConnell for a job badly done, later this year. it will be well deserved for that lemon puss. he never met a fund raising dollar that he didn't think was his.

  • Bud Day is an old fool. he, like John McCain, is a product of a bygone time that most Americans will, and won't, go back to anymore. they can reminisce or tell stories about the good ol' times all they want, but the future is in the other direction. and John McCain doesn't embody the future, he and Day are the past. they like to live there, so let'em. Obama is the future and that's the direction this country deserves to go in. oh, and thank you for your service, sir. otherwise, shove it you old coot.

  • actually, you're right he was against it, but he didn't even bother to show up vote to 'no'. as he was off doing other things, like attending fund- raisers. and then later Bush gives McCain 'credit' for passing that bill and McCain didn't say no.

  • Charles Krauthammer clearly is a 'bitter' voter, as is evidenced by this ranting screed. But instead of guns or religion he 'clings' to his wheelchair. (yes i said it). as he is an unapologetic neo-con he is also a war criminal.

  • Right on. Obama for Prez for sure. The real overarching reason for not voting for McCain is that he's a Republican. this party shoved Bush on us, and rejected a better version of McCain in 2000 for this idiot fool that occupies the Oval Office. they now have extreme buyer's remorse and want desperately to stay relevant, fat chance, and so they're backing McCain even though many of their ilk can't stand him. this party has failed because it divided the country after 9/11 as they used that issue to hammer democrats as soft and won elections that way. the slash and burn politics of Karl Rove and Tom Delay have now come home to roost and the American electorate is fed up with their failures and Bush and Cheney's. the GOP should be sent packing to the wilderness they belong in.

  • There is so much there for Obama to bludgeon McCain with, it's amazing. I just hope he actually does as people have a right to know that McCain hasn't been 'doing' his job: voting on legislation as a Senator. He even criticized Congress the other day for taking a break for the 4th, when he hasn't bothered to vote since March, I think.
