You are right - smothering is not quite the word I should have used - I was thinking of incorporating, encompassing, taking a part into the whole.
But after watching the Hardball clip with the PUMA and JUST SAY NO DEAL reps smothering would probably be a better word. Those two were pertty sad reps to go on msm with - would've thought they had someone better - more quick witted and better spoken.Posted at August 15, 2008 12:17 AM in response to It's Official: Obama Camp Encouraged Hillary's Name To Be Placed In Nomination

That was soo good. I just loved "I don't know he's in Hawaii". I'll have to use that next time I can't think of anything to say. Shuster was good - really got right on them. $500.00 to McCain huh? And only $50,000 wow - I thought they had millions. Even though their bone was with the DNC they won't vote for Obama ever. They both sounded rather silly. Fun to watch. Thanks for the link.

Okay, Elizabeth, I'll agree with you. There is no downside for Obama. I have to look at two things. First - I cannot believe the Democratic Party would not have let Obama campaign as he has since the last primary if there was any chance of Senator Clinton "stealing" the election. I also think this will be the Clintons last hurrah. I also have to trust Obama knows what he is doing. So far he has come out on top at every turn. This will be a way of folding the Pumas into the party and smothering their voices. Sometimes this is called "embracing the tiger". The media can say what ever they want about the situation. Obama looks good.

Oh yuck. You know that Rumfeld was a Vietnam retread that always felt we pulled out to early. As far as I know Rummy never declared in public that he "knows how to win a war" but he probably did in private. I guess when we are all blown to hell and back they will have to stop rattling sabers and pushing buttons.
I think you are right about McCain. Why does he keep saying he knows how to win a war? Ff'ing sh**head.

Stillid - glad you are here but I don't think anyone has said they don't like your posts. Your header reminds me of people that get up to give a speech and start by saying something about not being very good at giving speeches. The audiance is now set up to expect a poor speech and will look for anything that makes it so even if it is a good speech. The audiance also starts to resent the speaker for making them feel guilty. Same thing for people that fix a dinner, put it on the table in front of the guests and say "It's really not very good" - lowers head and waits for protests to the contrary.
So just put your posts up - to hell for those that don't like it. They will find something else to read.
And I DO like the link - thanks.Posted at August 11, 2008 9:53 PM in response to Even If You Don't Like My Posts, Please Read This :-)

You could be right. Didn't Murdoch contribute to Clinton? I read that he plays both sides in his media - who ever is winning. Can't remember where that was - had to have been about 6 months ago. Sorry, I don't like not being able to name sources espcially in this responsible company (not snark).
Love the post about Wallace. No TV so wouldn't ever see it. Glad it happened on Fox. ThanksPosted at August 11, 2008 9:32 PM in response to Chris Wallace Goes Off-Message, Tries Journalism
