  • Only if you are a Republican.

Personal responsibility is for Democrats and Liberals.

  • "The odd part here is that Coleman himself is running just the kind of ad against Franken that he decries here, with video and scary music to depict Franken as a foul-mouthed clown."

Republicans are great at projection. They simply can't imagine that anyone else thinks differently than they do.

  • Lots of interviews with Talk radio hosts. Fox news, Wall Street Journal, and Washington Times?
You know,(wink, wink) the Legitimate, objective Press.

  • "It's hard to predict in advance how this will play -- after all, the Obama campaign explicitly said that Kurtzer isn't a paid adviser and isn't authorized to conduct talks with any government. But it's the sort of thing that the McCain campaign might be able to get the media to play up."

The Mccain campaign isn't interested in whether or not it's charges are true, only whether or not they work. The media is only too happy to play along and report every single charge as if it has merit.

I'm beginning to think that the American people will get exactly the government they deserve if they fall for it again!

Perhaps we should start talking about how John McCain eats puppies for breakfast, and likes to strangle kittens before dinner.

  • It was Milbank. Milbank specializes in snark. Taking a quote from his column is like taking one from Dave Barry. His whole column is makinf fun of the way washington works, and while usually funny, should not be taken as a serious article. The whole point of Dana's pieces is to take ourselves less seriously.

The people who are using this part of a quote should be ashamed of themselves. They should know better. Joe Scarborough has been made to look like a fool twice this week. Maybe now he'll check his facts first, before harping on something for two hours... or maybe not.

  • "The campaign has hired Mike DuHaime, who previously worked as Rudy Giuliani's campaign manager."

So can we expect McCain's speeches from now on to consist of" A noun, a verb and 9/11"?

  • Perhaps you should read the whole speech. I think you'll agree with what he wants to do. He is calling for putting the entire country and the resources of the govt. to solving the problem. A "manhattan project" for energy.

  • I received one of those emails today. Hre was my response:

    Dear Speaker Pelosi,

What good does it do to have a Democratic congress if they refuse to stand up for our priciples? The FISA bill being debated today should never have been brought up for consideration. Capitulation is not the same thing as compromise. It seems every time you "compromise" with the Bush Administration, the only thing that gets compromised are the voter's rights.

I'll be glad to help more democrats get elected when they stop caving in every time the Republicans try to scare them into yet another capitulation. It's time we stopped focusing on more Democrats and started focusing on better Democrats. I would like to help get elected people who won't sell my right to privacy to the highest telecom bidder.
