A brief pointer to Obama's Policies and Substance, Part I
Obama has had, and continues to have, many excellent policies. Since they are overshadowed by his excellent oratory skills, I thought I would post this here, as a pointer for my fellow Obama supporters. Please note that I am an...more »

Don't mock yet.
If Rush was pushing her, there's a reason.
And she DOES lock in McCain's base. What I could see on Free Republic before it overloaded was 90% positive and excited. That's enough to move a lot of votes, in and of itself.
Keep your powder dry, folks, and let's keep noses to the grindstone. McCain's not going to just let us have this, you know.

Thank you, Greg.
Really -- at this point, anyone watching the news is going to have jumpy nerves.
Think about that. Think about how the news feeds on that sense of you "Having to Know" what's coming next, what the next explosion is going to be. Not saying they're right or wrong in that, just that this seems to be a reoccurring point of coverage on both sides (see: Ron Paul).
Thanks for focusing on what's really going on, Greg.

Think you're reading WAY too much into this, man.
I don't see any bias at all in this post; he's simply reporting the Conventional Wisdom -- which I think, in this case, is correct.

Newsweek just put up their new poll, with some interesting numbers on the race:
http://www.newsweek.com/id/132721
The timeline is that "of the registered voters who were surveyed 517 were interviewed after the debate and 692 before. She added that the views of those surveyed remained largely constant."

I live in NC. No way a debate about debates throws this state, in and of itself, to Clinton. The numbers against her are very, very strong.

It's relevant because the pundits make it so. And then it becomes the echo chamber, like it or now.
On one hand, we have 3-4 post-or-during-debate polls in PA showing improvement on Obama's part, as well as limited change in Rasmussen tracking. And now, Gallup says he's hurting from it. That means we'll have to wait and see.
So it's going to hurt. It's going to get rocky, and those of us who are Obama supporters need to be ready for it. Because a bad debate is just a bad debate, and if HRC gains in the polls, it just means our team, and our candidate, has to do better, next time, just as Clinton did after her rough debates, and just as Obama did after Wright.
And there's time for that to happen.

Hey Greg, you might want to add that Nunn and Boren aren't SuperD's, since that's getting asked a lot. I know it was my first question, and I had to check.

Good call on the whys and wherefores. It's likely McCain'll have to lean on the RNC hard to balance out either Democratic canidate. And as you guys point out elsewhere, the RNC'll also be hard-pressed to support it's on-the-run candidates.
On top of all that, it would take only an email or two from Obama to fill the DNC's coffers, at this point in the game. Just need to get out of the Primary...
