Russell is not a serious candidate against Murtha in that district. He still hasn't moved from VA to PA. And his bio has some scary stuff like "... the role of our Creator in public life..." He'll get some desperate Repug votes in that district but there is no contest there.
Donations to his campaign will be wasted money.

Waxman is NOT a Republican. The man has some integrity - unlike those . . .

Arrest Mukasey! He seems the type that would totally spill his guts under pain .. er, I mean pressure.

"Might I now be optimistic that the Republican leadership will decry other Bush policies that also "take us backwards?"
Seriously? No. Those few Repubs are up for re-election this year so there will a little speaking up - but since the White House refuses to open EPA email and read it, they won't read this either.
Appreciate your efforts at trying to see some sanity in the republican party - but any real decency left with you I am sad to say.

We don't really know that because according to "Maxed Out" credit reports for politicians, judges, and other VIPs are kept in a separate database and treated "very special."
Meanwhile the credit agencies keep messing with regular consumers credit data, and we don't ever get offered those "courtesy" deals.

Senator Dodd,
Could you please do a "courtesy" for consumers that are struggling? How about supporting that Creditcard Holders Bill of Rights bill that was introduced in the House by Rep. Maloney.
How would you like it if that courtesy rate of 4.25% was suddenly increased to 20.99% without any recourse?
How nice that your top campaign donors are Citigroup, Bear Stearns, AIG, JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, etc. No conflict of interest there I'm sure.

This is not shocking - favorable financial treatment for a senator? Rick Santorum got a huge mortgage that 'he could not afford' by conventional mortgage standards http://www.prospect.org/cs/articles?articleId=11174
I certainly hope that Dodd was never a VP consideration. He makes me sick with his BFF Bear Stearns relationship - but he hasn't said a word to help consumers - like supporting the Creditcard Holder's Bill of Rights bill in the House.
Dodd gets too much campaign money from Wall Street banks that have caused a huge financial crisis for average citizens - who just want a fair playing field so they can have a decent fiancial future.

"Well turn that frown upside down, Alberto, you've got a job." Love this line. Excellent writing!
I'd still rather see Gonzo - gonzoed off to prison.

Just say No to Dodd as VP. We don't need Bear Stearns' best buddy involved here.

It's not relish - it's wondering if this guy got "treatment" instead of jail time because he's a white, possibly-connected politician.
As BBpdx very well stated above - "I'm glad the GOP is so supportive of the treatment option. I'm sure that any day now they'll announce that their support for treatment extends from 50-something white Republican men, to young black men in the inner city."
